Oh, and apparently it takes approximately 9081234 hours of questing to get to Inazuma. I finished the Liyue main quest, and then had to do the teapot. Okay. Then I do the teapot, and I have to do the Dainsleif quests. After that, I'm going to have to do the fighting tourney quest. And then the Ritou quests. And I won't be surprised if the game inserts a few more in that sequence along the way. I just want to get to the severed fate domain, man!

I picked the game back up today after a full year off. Started a new account since my old one was on PS4 and I don't have PS+ anymore. RIP my Razor/Venti/Fischl team. I assume there's a lot more OP units than those that have come out since then though.

Right now you can roll for Hu Tao, who is one of the best DPS characters. The OP free-to-play team comp is Xiangling, Bennett, Xingqui, Chongyun.

Thoma is the new 4* character on the banner, but jury is still out on him. Still working to see if he is useful in any team comps.

Working on leveling up Thoma's artifacts, then start working on his talents. It was tough trying to figure out what the best setup is with what I got. I'm hoping I can hit 200+ ER and 30k HP with 4pc Severed Fate (ER-HP-HP main stats) and have him use either the Staff of Homa or Engulfing Lightning.

What does PS+ have to do with it? Can you not log in at all with your old account? Everything is saved to Mihoyo's servers and has cross-play now so if you can still log in you should have it.

That said, I wish I had seen your post like 10 minutes ago before I did my second roll on the beginner banner and got both Bennett and Xingqiu, neither of which I had before. >__>

I honestly might just keep going with this account. When I played last year, I got up to the point where the true grind kicked in, and I didn't have any fun with it at all. I'm sure I'm gonna miss out on some events going on right now, but I'm loving just going around exploring again.

That said probably still worth trying to log in with the old PSN account. Bennett is in the Starglitter shop right now so you could get him easily on there if you had enough resources banked and then decide from there. If it doesn't work, oh well, if it does then free alt!

Edit: oh do note that there might be some issues with it, like I think accounts that started on PSN have to go through the PS Store forever. I have the opposite where I started on mobile so I can't do purchases on PS5. Not that it matters if you're F2P. And idk what happens if they are on the same email address.

As for the "true grind," yeah, good luck getting there. I'm up to AR43 and I have so many quests and so much map left to explore that it's absurd. I'm going to have to stop just to make a point to grind for artifacts when I hit AR45. Just make sure you're doing your commissions, spending your resin, and not neglecting farming for other ascension materials.

Damn Abyss 11-3. I can never seem to kill these things fast enough in Abyss, but absolutely wreck them outside it. Got 0 star for 11-3. I wish I had 2 Eulas and could use both on a floor.

The versions in the abyss are scaled far, far differently than the ones outside. Aside from being different level, their HP pool is different, and I'm fairly certain so is their behavior in the case of the cubes.

Yeah, I could tell as much. Still sad though. My team that 3*s 11-1 and 11-2 cant even 1* 11-3 and I have no idea who to even really use. I had double ice for the hydro and Xingqiu and Fischl for the Pyro hoping it would help more, but it didnt. I think I finished both with like 2mins or so left lol

The problem, in part, is that not very people fight those cubes to begin with. They're so niche. If they had put the electro and anemo cubes in, I'd know exactly how to fight them. I'm not familiar with hydro or pyro AT ALL because I've never had reason to kill them. I had the same problem with the cryo cube when that was in the abyss, but that one's at least a hell of a lot more manageable. Plus these cubes are invulnerable for the majority of the time you're fighting them, and then you have to do gimmicky stuff during the brief vulnerability window.

I started playing back in September, and I probably would have played/enjoyed it more if the events/character progression expecting you to be at the end of the current content hadn't soured my experience so much. Nothing more frustrating than your shiny first 5* lagging behind in levels because she requires Inazuma mats that I can't get to ascend, as well as time-gated events that depend on you being there to do. I refuse to be rushed by games, so I'm more inclined to just play something else than feel like I have to grind through the story for hours.

The flower event is pretty awful. It's basically a daily log-in event with restrictions...like owning the fields in the teapot to plant them.

Yeah I started mid August so I felt this, although the September events were a bit more lax to get to. There's just a weird tension with the new player progression in the game. The story honestly isn't that long if you focus on it, but that means you aren't exploring the map as much which is the fun part. But taking your time and exploring ranks up your AR, which means now you have to grind mid-story plus don't have Inazuma materials. You can put off the grind by sitting at one of the World Ascension gates but that also feels bad. Probably still better than rushing because it keeps your characters from falling off.

Since most of next patch's events are centered around Dragonspine, hopefully the prereqs aren't too bad and don't require Archon Quest progress. Not sure if we know them yet but I'd expect to have to do the main world quest there and maybe a character quest or two.

Eula supremacy

Current project is leveling up Yanfei and my shiny new Bennett. And boy is Yanfei annoying to build.

First of all Nocturilous Jade is annoying. Mining ore for a local speciality is just a pain, not too big a deal though it's just slow.

Second of all, and this is much more obnoxious, her boss material is from the Primo Geovishap. He's an HP sponge but Diona makes him basically not a threat. But. The elemental gems this guy drops are random so I'm going to have to spend even more resin on the flower or cube just to get the right kind. Both Yanfei and Bennett will eventually want 80/90 so I desperately need fire crystals, so it just feels really bad having to kill this guy.

Her artifact situation annoys me too because she wants Wanderer's Troupe which is annoying to get. I at least have the main stats sorted out but the substats aren't ideal.

Oh well. I hope the explosion lawyer is worth it!

You can get fire gems from the fire flower boss in Liyue too. Id go that route for those because its a lot easier and faster to kill

You can convert elemental gems in the alchemy bench. It takes an item you can buy in the stardust shop, so maybe you don't have enough, but it's quite cheap.

I like Yanfei. I think she's fun to play. Only complaint is that her reliance on stamina makes her difficult to run in the ice domain.

I wish they would buff Yoimiya to not basically need to stay still for her damage. It sucks that the auto target just disappears at like 15-20m range or so too since it makes using Archers more annoying than they already are. Ganyu is fine since shes all about charge shots, but the ones who arent feel like they need too much support since they have to be fairly close to hit targets
