Honestly I'm not sure if I would say strength or intelligence if I were an RPG character. They're probably equal (both maxed)

Just what they chose to name the parameters I guess.

Endurance could pass for Constitution, Agility for Dexterity, in which case I suppose Perception passes for Wisdom.

Wisdom generally just means awareness, perception, or generally being in-tune with things in most games. Perception is pretty much a standard substitution for it.

Now when you mention it, I wonder why they left it out.

Because the poll is pretty clearly referencing the SPECIAL system in Fallout.

Basically, when they developed Fallout, they used D&D as a base but didn't want to be a direct copy (even beyond worrying about copyright issues). It's why they used Agility instead of Dexterity and Endurance instead of Constitution as well.

There've been a TON of D&D rip-off and D&D-derivative tabletop RPGs and video games over the years, and most of them try to come up with their own terms for basic concepts. Like bravado or presence (or even moxie) instead of charisma. Intelligence can occasionally be knowledge or skill, Dexterity occasionally gets replaced with skill or finesse, etc.

Strength's about the only one that tends to stay the same in every system, because it's hard to come up with synonyms for it (though some will go with "Brawn" or something similar).

Which makes a lot of sense since no one in Fallout has ANY Wisdom... it was my biggest peeve with both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4's plots; everything could be solved with simple communication

Bad writing... bad writing never changes.

My biggest problem with Fallout 3 and 4 was that they very clearly had a very specific story they wanted to tell, and they wrote the main characters and main quest lines to reflect that. It feels like they only gave you freedom to make choices begrudgingly at best, and went out of their way to scold you for not following the script (especially in Fallout 3).

It's part of why I see New Vegas as being so far superior - Vegas leaves you far more wiggle room to decide who you want to be and how you want to act, and the game tries to reward you for it, or at least not try to force its own opinions on you.
