Reason it does that is cause you wash it every day. If you start to wash it every other day or every three days, after about 1 months it wont do that anymore.

Indeed. It becomes greasy because your body is aggressively trying to restore the oils that have been lost by shampooing it so frequently. If you shampoo less often, you retain a healthy coat of those oils, so your body doesn't have to work so hard to replenish them and therefore stops at a more reasonable amount.

Shampoo once every five or so days, regular conditioner every day, and pricier and nicer conditioner meant for moisturizing the scalp when I have a bottle of it every two or three months (daily during this time). That's about it.

I wash my hair too much but it's annoying because

1. I want to have my hair be clean and free of germs that might be in my pillow, so I wash it in the morning
2. After coming home from work and/or grocery store I want to take a shower to decontaminate so I briefly wash my hair again to get rid of 'outside' germs

Often I just forget to wash my hair though so that reduces the amount I'm damaging my hair but if I remember to shampoo I do it twice a day for the 4 days I work ever since the pandemic started...surely bad but I try to keep it quick and started to use colder water so as not to damage my hair too much. I should just rinse with cold(er) water more often and not care about germs. I'm just being too OCD.

Washing your hair every day isn't actually bad, it's just unnecessary.
At the very least it will irritate conditions like eczema and psoriasis -- but for somebody without issues like that, it doesn't actually hurt, nor does it help.

I tend to wash it every day just because it feels better and looks better that way. My hair gets messy and greasy very quickly. I use only a little shampoo. I don't wash it on Sundays or on days when I don't generally give a shit.

I do use conditioner every day though. If not my hair becomes hard to brush.

I used to wash it every day, but it started getting dry. I do it every other day now. Unless I go out.

In the summer, I'll rinse it every 1-2 days.
In the winter, only 1-2 times per week.

And I only shampoo it once per week regardless, sometimes 2x.
Never saw the point of conditioner.

No like every 3 days or more. I have a shaved head most of the time anyways.

I always heard you aren't supposed to wash it every day, but if I don't wash it, then it looks like shit. I do wash it closer to every other day instead now, but it still ends up looking like shit. Is this a thing where if I commit to it, it'll eventually look good without washing but for a while will just be bad

Every couple of weeks

While I'm thankful that I still have it and that it's as thick as ever, that thickness makes it an absolute motherfucker to blow dry efficiently so it's something that I truly have to make time for.

When I was little, my hair was super curly and a light golden brown color. It was really wild.

It's amazing how much it darkened and straightened out over the years. Now it's wavy rather than curly and is a medium-brown.

I like the color, but I miss my curls!

I also have way too much of it. It is SUPER thick and heavy. I have to keep it short otherwise it actually makes me hot enough to sweat like a pig.

So yeah, I wash it pretty much every day just because it tends to trap in a lot of grease even at a short length.
