It's been I would say at least 10 years since I played this. I remember most of the characters being pretty grating, the plot about revenge being particularly uncompelling, and severely disjointing which is a problem with most GTA plots to be fair. However, its themes of immigration and some of the harshest lampooning of American culture should still be applauded, AND the DLC packs give the whole game a considerable boost in quality, especially Johnny's.

"NICO MAH COUSIN LET'S GO BOWLING" is.. .yeah. The gameplay mechanic that forces the characters into becoming your "friends" in-game only serves to reinforce how obnoxious they are (the latter part being the one relevant to this rating, though I could rant about the former), and frankly there are too many "Go here, kill this guy" tasks early on that don't make you care about the plot, characters, or setting.

Truth be told, I've tried three times, and while each of them I got a little farther, I gave up each one, because it's not a good game.

It's ok but it really drags around the middle part much like the gameplay. Ends on a much stronger note though.

Despite some pacing issues actually quite a good plot with some decent writing that gets away from the just rip off crime movies of the era thing plaguing the PS2 games. The central issue with it however is that all the characters are fundamentally unlikeable, and not in a way that makes the narrative more effective. Stories like this one will only work if you connect to the characters and I didnt. The only actually likeable character was the Jamaican stereotype which says it all frankly. Quite a theme with Rockstars games, which just goes to show how impressive it is that they nailed it in Red Dead Redemption 2.

6 I think. It starts rough but the last act is pretty good. The biker DLC is by far the best story in the game though. TBoGT is pretty good too.
