If I had any extra money I'd invest as soon as it crashes because we either eventually agree to pay it and the market goes up or we don't and the economy is on fire forever.

I liked a proposal I saw to just raise the debt ceiling to some ridiculous number like 10^100 dollars. Then we dont have to worry about it for a long time.

Because dems hold all 3 chambers and can pass a debt ceiling increase with budget reconciliation using a simple majority. The problem with that is that dems wanted to use reconciliation (which IIRC can only be done once a year) on the $3.5 trillion house bill that they also can't get to 60 votes for, so they'd have to sacrifice the ability to push other agenda items through in order to raise the debt.
