1 Taco a day for 30 days, cost ranges from between $5-$10/month

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/13/taco-bell-tests-30-day-taco-subscription-to-drive-more-frequent-visits.html

The newest subscription service isnt to stream TV shows or movies. Its for Taco Bells tacos.
Customers with the Taco Lovers Pass can order one crunchy taco, soft taco, spicy potato soft taco or Doritos Locos taco per day for 30 days straight on the chains app. The cost of the pass ranges from $5 to $10 a month, depending on the location. The Yum Brands chain is testing the program across 17 locations in Tucson, Arizona from Sept. 9 to Nov. 24.

Other restaurant chains have also launched similar subscription programs, with mixed success. Restaurant Brand Internationals Burger King launched a coffee subscription for $5 a month in 2019 to help promote its breakfast menu but discontinued it several months later. Panera Bread, which is privately owned, launched its own version in 2020 that offered unlimited coffee and tea for $8.99 a month and the first three months free. Less than a year later, the program had nearly half a million paying subscribers.

Like Burger King and Panera, Taco Bell is likely hoping to drive regular visits to its restaurants from customers, building habits during the 30-day period. Since one taco isnt filling enough for most consumers, they might add more to their orders, too.
The pass could encourage more consumers to download and use Taco Bells app as well. The chain launched a loyalty program through its app more than a year ago. Executives on Yums latest earnings call said that Taco Bell loyalty members spend 35% more on their visits compared with their spending habits before joining the program.
Shares of Yum, which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut, have risen 18% this year, bringing its market value to $37.9 billion.

If I can get six subscriptions for $30, and get half a dozen tacos a day, that may actually be worthwhile.

Back in my homeless youth, this would been a big help. For $10 a month, at least I'd know I'd eat something every day. Sure, it's a shitty taco, but it's a little over $0.30 a day to have something warm to eat.

This is actually a good point, and could be something that might get used by homeless people in order to at least eat something every day.

Unfortunately you have to have a smart phone to subscribe to the app. How many homeless own smart phones?

They have potatoes again. Spicy potato tacos are even eligible for the subscription.

This seems dumb though. Who gets one taco from Taco Bell everyday. Maybe if my workplace was like a 30 second walk from a TB, Id sorta consider it.

Anyone else remember Movie Pass? $10/month and you can see 1 movie a day. Originally there were no restricitons on it but once the Summer blockbusters came out they limited it to only the same movie once and you had to wait like 2-weeks after it debuted. Still was great though. Saw close to 100 movies in the year I had it.

The movie pass equivalent would be paying ten dollars a month to be able to obtain $10 worth of food (or higher in other areas) a day.

Well, yeah.
But, much like Moviepass, this is going to decay over time, if it even survives the trial.
"Free taco a day" will become "free taco with purchase"
"Free taco a day, with purchase" will become "free taco with $5 purchase" once "nachos and my free taco, please" becomes the de-facto order.
"Free taco a day, with purchase (limit 10 per month)", etc...

I feel like a very low percentage of subscribers will actually get their ass to a Taco Bell once a day. And even then, I imagine the basic tacos are the second biggest loss leaders on the menu besides the soft drinks/freezes. Those tacos are tiny and have a sliver of meat on them.

Sure. Not here in my small little community college town though, youre required to have a meal pass to live in most college dorms. And chances are, if youre commuting, you could afford better.

Tbf, thats already their rewards: I get TBell maybe once every week or so (Chx quesadilla and a potato soft taco with Baja Blast or the $5 My Cravings Box) and every month I get a free reward, which I redeem for Nachos Bell Grande and they give out additional freebies like once a month.

With regards to the subscription: I dont see the problem. Even if you used it only ~7 days out of the month youd come out on top (Taco at $1.50). So you swing by for your item a couple times a week. Sure its not like I really want that specific item but for people that already would go there a couple times a week to get a taco it would be worth it. If theyre going anyway, why would you care?

If I still worked near a TBell Id probably do it for the $10, get the taco and another item for lunch or just the taco on my way home.

In your guys minds, do Mexicans never make it further into American than right across the border? Like, they all come over the border and just be like "We did it, set up camp" lol. You guys are crazy. There's authentic Mexican food everywhere. You guys also act like Mexican families can't pass down recipes to their born American kids. The hell is going on in your thought process >_>. Unless you're just being super snobby with your qualifications. If it's passed down, it no longer counts! Even if it's the exact same recipe and quality!
