A couple of my more conservative managers very quickly left their positions within the last couple months. Likely due to the rules related to returning to office lol.

I say we call everyone's bluff and let them work at wherever doesnt end up requiring vaccines.

Its probably gonna be some shit that they dont want to do, or they feel doesnt pay enough, but let's let that free market that Conservatives constantly crow about sort that part out

The vaccine doesn't make you immune to Covid, you can still catch it. Face masks will still reduce the chance of catching it, if they are worn properly. We really need to get used to the idea of social distancing and face masks being a permanent thing.

i mean were at almost 90% in my city, over 80% in the province and its not back to normal, they moved the goalpost to 95%

We have two giant hospitals in town so a lot of medical-related jobs, and I know a lot of nurses or whatever. Most of them are all up in arms about it--and while some of them ARE vaccinated but just don't think it should be mandatory, most of them refuse to get it. And my thought is "Holy crap these are the people who are supposed to be taking care of us medically?!" and it makes me really hope that I or my family don't need to go to the hospital. >_>

There are a lot of nurses that are pretty far removed from taking care of actual covid patients.

The ones in the ICUs dealing with covid day in and day out are probably a lot more positive about the vaccine.

Face masks for travel and within hospitals should absolutely by a permanent new norm. If Americans did that and got vaccinated then the majority could otherwise act the same as they did pre-Covid.

There will be a minority that fights for permanent social distancing, but the majority will tell them to **** right off and give them some variation of "you do you, let me do me". People want to socialize and attempting to tell them that they can never do that again isn't going to to over well, ever.

The recent UK Delta study seems to indicate otherwise.

Delta growth is exponential and it spreads too fast and the biggest reason the virus can't be brought under control is because both vaccinated and unvaccinated keep passing it to kids and teens, who are then spreading it like wildfire. The ultimate protection are masks, but even out here in NYC, most have stopped wearing them.

People talking about how face masks and social distancing will be permanent must not remember what happened in May when CDC said they werent necessary for vaccinated people.

Hell, even now when I go shopping Id say less than half the people are wearing masks. To think this is going to be a new norm for life is naive.

Theres already websites that promote job offers from employers who refuse to enforce vaccine mandates. I've seen people share this stuff on social media.
