I remember loving the story in this game from start to finish, though my mind is fuzzy on most of the plot details. The band of characters was a ton of fun to be around and the setting/atmosphere drew me in despite the Wii's limitations at the time.

I remember people complaining about it being predictable regarding a certain plot twist, but that wasn't my view at all and I found the story quite enjoyable, probably since I don't really hypothesize much during a self-contained storytelling. I just wish it ran higher than 10 FPS.

Loved Syrenne & Lowell in particular, though like plasma mind is also pretty fuzzy on it.

You know, obvious twist aside, this is a good RPG story with great writing and some fun spins on the JRPG formula. I just wish the game itself played better like GMUN.

This is actually one of my favorite RPGs, but the story is one of the lesser parts of that; I find the cast, the OST, and the gameplay to be the more memorable parts of the game. That being said, it's a solid, good story that, while not particularly innovative, benefits from an interesting enough setting and lore and is executed well.

Oh Xenoblade is a much better game. This game is good but does not play especially well and has major performance issues. Xenoblade is still one of the best playing RPGs ever made.

Yeah there was something kinda nice and FF-ish about the cast and the progression of the story, but I thought the twist was kinda dumb?

Don't remember much beyond that.

I know I'm in a ludicrously extreme minority but Xenoblade is actually my least favorite of the Rainfall games.

Lower play-rate and less hype is gonna do that. TLS came out like 2 years after people stopped playing Wii games. Even Xenoblade took a lot of word of mouth and multiple re-releases to spread around.

I've played Last Story but it just didn't stick in my mind very well so I've refrained from voting here. Would definitely put Xenoblade ahead of it though even with all my bones to pick with it.

I got halfway through The Last Story and just stopped. I didn't drop it, and I didn't quit because I disliked it or anything, I just... didn't keep playing. I'd be down to try it again someday (preferably somewhere it performs better), but it's definitely not as good as Xenoblade.
