I'm not sure why they would think that, when, after the PH drama OF took steps to make the site more secure. You can't even make/upload anything on there now unless both yourself and the other parties involved are age verified etc.

in the beginning i think it was g rated. then it became much more. people upload their music on there but if you mention it to someone then they will auto think porn or explicit xxx stuff

It wasn't that's how PH got in trouble and there was that massive purge. Anybody could just join through normal signup with email etc and start posting content. You only needed an extra step of identity verification if you wanted to be a PH model and get money from them. But OF tried to get ahead of this very scenario by tightening up the requirements some months ago. That's why I find this whole thing odd, the payment companies have no leg to stand on.

They say there's no publicity that bad publicity but OF has been pissing off people for like a year now. This stunt whether intentional or not will be the last straw. I wouldn't be surprised if they took a permanent hit cause there was increasing popularity on other similar sites anyways.

I find that hard to believe. Porn sites generally are the most popular on the internet. Plus they already got a ton of extra exposure over the past 1-2 years with celebrities starting OF pages. This entire episode will just make content makers very sceptical of continuing or even joining to begin with. That includes celebs.

A ton is an exaggeration. There will always be some people that are utterly oblivious to whatever. OF has a userbase of 75-100M people. That's only registered customers. Many times that number would use the content without paying duh. And then many more still would have heard of OF but never used it. That's how you get some people saying they didn't realise it was that big on porn. But they still heard of it.
