Whats it about?

It's about an urban myth service/business for the wealthy. To ordinary citizens, the place doesn't exist. But wealthy people can go there to rent whatever type of person they want. Typically, it's used as an escort service, but it can be used for other things too. When you give a description of a person, the company will upload that personality onto a doll and allow you to rent them for however long.

The main character is one of the dolls. You can sign a few years of your life away and then when it's time, you'll get your body/mind back and be gifted some money and whatever else to better your future. I don't want to go into too much more, but the show gets really crazy. It's only two seasons. I think it's on Facebook TV for free LOL

Seriously though they take people and wipe their personalities and implant new ones (with different skills etc) but also are just pimping them out and making them sleep with people etc. It's kinda a really warped mind that comes up with something like that.

I tried to watch it eons ago when it came out cause Faith from Buffy the vampire slayer is the main character and I liked her, but I just couldn't handle the ick factor.

Still feel the same way, but I at least made it to episode 3 where she is working with a chick and not sleeping with some guy against her will, so this episode isn't bad so far.

Whole concept is totally wacked though, and if I can continue watching it, I bet they don't actually let you go after 5 years (although maybe eventually you'll be to old for anyone to want to sleep with you I guess).

Gonna try and push through, but may have to give up if they do anymore extremely icky stuff like in the first two episodes.

Yeah, producers knew the show was ending though, so they wrapped everything up in the second season. It escalates VERY fast. The show goes into more details about how dolls are selected. Typically, the company will want someone attractive, down on their luck, desperate, and with no friends/family to rely on.

I remember liking it, but never being too mad that they ended it when they did. Just felt like it was going to go off the rails really quickly if it went for more then 2 seasons (the end of the final season was still really weird). Also, it has a 2 hour special to fill in the gaps of the final few episodes so they aren't so confusing.

I think this show was also the point when people went from "Wow, Joss Whedon shows are so cool!" (Buffy, Angel, Firefly, etc.) to "Wow, Joss Whedon is kind of a creep!"

Yeah, I liked the premise behind buffy/angel and firefly. Pretty much all 3 shows were awesome. This was a bit different. Trying to get further into it, but the concept behind it is just blech to me.

I mean, at least it's not just girls they do it to, but it's still really messed up. Even 30 years later as an older man, I still struggle with the idea of taking young girls, wiping their minds and pimping them out as a normal occurance on this show.

the deeper you get into the show, the more Interesting it gets. The bad people that you dont like might get whats coming to them. The show isnt all evil

its a very small show, but its all wrapped up in a nice bow by the end. At least they got to give it an ending, unlike Firefly

Its actually one of my favorite Joss Whedon shows, but you have to give the characters some time to grow.

Nog, I like alot of the actors in it, so i'm trying. There are a bunch of shows I never watched because they ick me out etc, and this was one of em.

Seems to be getting better fairly fast (at least now throwing her having sex with fat unatractive dudes and being in "love" with them because they programed her to be in your face as much.

Still fucking twisted, but i guess i'm getting used to it.
