Yeah, it has a certain charm to it that the other don't have even if they're better in other ways. I love the setting of it. You could even at least laugh at a lot of the bad things and glitches. It has the best meme and funny videos as well.

I've played entire RPG's without knowing what the hell the story was about.
Hell, I had 100's of hours in Oblivion and really didn't know what was going on.
...If anything, I was pissed I opened up those hell gates or w/e...just because I found them annoying.

One thing I'll say is that this 2007 open world game has better textures on the world than Dark Souls II

It's been almost ten years since I played Oblivion - I was obsessed with the the game and logged thousands of hours on it prior to Skyrim - and one of the reasons I'm looking forward to replaying Oblivion sometime soon is to see how the graphics hold up. Cyrodiil genuinely felt like a real, believable worldspace at the time, and Skyrim never quite had that same effect; no matter what graphical mods and tree replacers I pile onto Skyrim, the overworld too often feels like a bunch of mismatched shapes and textures thrown together randomly, instead of a cohesive, believable worldspace. So I'm curious to see how Oblivion holds up now that I've stepped down the texture mod rabbit hole and have been cursed with a critical eye for those types of details.

Playing it on a PC with mods was fun as all fucking hell. Having a mod that increases the speed of the arrows based on how powerful they are along with the ragdoll physics of the game was a great way to have some hilarious moments.

Then adding in the two big creature mods that add more creatures and people into the game was AMAZING. One time I walked around a bend in the road and there was a massive fight going on between at least 20 guys. I got soooo much loot from that when it was all over.

I prefer Oblivion to Skyrim, it was a bigger advancement from Morrowind than Skyrim was from Oblivion and the storylines are just a million times more interesting and there's *more* to the storylines.
