Board 8 > so Pokemon Unite came out about 2 weeks ago

After about 5 days with this game I'm not sure I'm going to keep playing. I'm not taking it super seriously but I feel like I still can't even enjoy it casually when your teammates are completely braindead 75% of the time.

The amount of games I've had where my lane partner tries to score with 5 points, gets completely blown up, and then moves to the other lane to leave me completely alone, is WAY too many. Also the most common amount of junglers is always 0 or 2, never 1.

I know that this is baby's first MOBA for a lot of people but as someone who put way too much time into Dota 2 back in the day it's driving me insane.

On top of that I think there's too many fundamental issues that I just don't agree with. The slow/speed lane should deal poison damage or something because right now it's completely useless. Snorlax should not be able to push your entire team off the tower with one move while his whole team scores.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying it but I'm not sure I can say the same.

The slow lane is really strong. You are going to get in am imbalanced situation if you go in deep.

Also I don't play DotA but I can hop in and win a game right now because the playerbase is 90% braindead.

I'm getting really sick of people who DONT SHOW UP TO DREADNAW FIGHTS.

Also how is it that it's essentially a 50/50 on zapdos when there are 5 allies and 1 enemy? My mime and snorlax NEVER know how to box out the guy going for the steal, and if zapdos still high enough that we should just stop hitting it, kill the guy, and then resume, NOPE they keep hitting the zapdos, and HELP the guy get the steal. Or if zapdos is REALLY low and we just gotta burst it down, NOPE, they all stop hitting the zapdos to try and kill the interloper and he gets the last hit on the zapdos.

I'M IN ULTRA 4 FFS, YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE GAME A LITTLE BIT IF YOU ARE AT THIS RANK.

That's what bothers me as well. I can see what rank you are in before the game starts. How the hell were you allowed to be carried this far and not understand the basics of the game? Were you carried in a 5 stack to this point? Did you just get lucky and have someone carry you in other games?

There's no way these people should be in Ultra and still not understand some of these basic strategies.

And no, you cannot say, Oh it's just children. This is Ultra Rank. You have to win a ton of games to get to this point, these are all people that have played Mobas before or at least should understand what their characters do or that Dreadnaw gives the whole team who gets it a bunch of exp and shields.

Like in Ultra, I'll still see a Snorlax up in the far top left just fighting an Audino for 30 seconds WHILE DREADNAW IS UP.

You are Snorlax, your purpose is not to farm incredibly slowly, it's to be there at teamfights to win them for the team because you are busted and can CC/Block people for 100 years. You don't have any other purpose.

Wigglytuff - Dazzling Gleam
Wasn't hitting certain wild Pokemon

Cinderace - Feint
Lowered the duration and movement speed boost

Gengar - Dream Eater
Speed increased

Lucario - Bone Rush
There was a bug that it wasn't hitting surrounding Pokemon on the second hit

I have 450 of these item upgrade things, but no idea what to use them on.

I've only been Snorlax so far, but just got Machamp too. Any recommendations for what to use? All of my items are still level 1.

Buddy Barrier for sure. And Muscle band.

And I still like float stone but others don't seem as convinced about that one.

Huh, haven't played a mainline Pokemon game in a while so I didn't know they updated a bunch of old Pokemon cries. Was wondering why my old faves Charizard and Gengar sounded nothing like they used to.

Just listened to the Gen 1 cry remasters and most of these sound like ass.

Float stone still gives passive attack which I would argue is important for securing creeps in lane.

They sounded like a fart coming out of a broken boombox. And like half the Pokemon shared the same cry as one another just at different speeds (and sometimes not even that. Ever noticed that Charizard and Rhyhorn have the exact same cry?)

Also every match I had the other day had someone on my team just sitting in the spawn area for ages. Like just going full idle for half or more of the match

Any idea what the "confirmed bug" involving Hex is that's mentioned in the message when you start the game?

Seems like it for some of them! Slowbro and Gardevoir seem easy enough for Standard play though. I dunno what Im even doing half the time still, but Gardevoir hits pretty damn hard and Slowbro just feels so beefy. I just pick Amnesia and Scald and watch everyone run away from me or die it feels like

as it stops working at like level 8 until Hex+ fixes it at 13

So what are the best moves to pick? Some have gotten be better than others

There was just a big balance patch so some of that might have changed, and some move choices are both good so it comes down to personal preference.

On greninja for example I like smokescreen and surf. Now I think smokescreen is just always better than double team, but for the other move I prefer surf, but I can see the argument for Water shuriken as well.

On Snorlax I can't think of a reason to not take Heavy Slam and Wall. There is a small argument to be made for Snore, but flail is never taken and snore is rarely taken.

How much does Focus Band actually heal? Has this been figured out somewhere?

At first I assumed it was basically a 30% heal, but the wording of it means it could be much less.

Also knowing when it triggers and the cooldown on triggering again would be good to know

Frustrating when your team in ranked is literally garbage of the highest caliber. Doing nothing or splitting off and dying the whole match. When you gotta defend a zone as a ranged attacker because your actual defender is not doing :/

Every attempt I made to score anywhere it was like the enemy team magically teleported to me and fucking one-shot me. I literally died in a single blow to a Ninetales somehow

And my 3rd ever ranked match my team won 303 to 0 :o

After a match you can try to add your opponent as friends. If you press A on their name and nothing pops up then they were actually bots. If you press A and there's a little menu that says "Add friend, block, report, etc" then they were real people. And yes, this happens in ranked matches too. I've seen some people say that if you lose 3 in a row you're guaranteed to get a bot match but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

So yeah those were probably bots.

If Im playing Talonflame Ill use Fluffy Tail, but thats it. For a little bit I was using Full Heal to help against Gengar but I switched back to Eject Button because it didnt help that much more and I could use Eject Button in other situations too

Been having more fun with the game lately now that I'm basically just playing Zeraora and jungling in ranked games. It's a little easier to make up for your teammates when you're getting 15+ kills and 200 points a game.

ShadowEater so much more fun than SludgeHex. ShB-Dream-Eat-ShB is more than enough without needing to spam Hex and hoping you don't get off-target

Machamp has been a lot of fun. I've found Dynamic Punch / Close Combat to be really effective, and have been on a solid run.

Still haven't played a whole lot, though - just got my Crustle.
