Maybe so He-man's identify isn't widely spread so that someone can just tell people such as Skeletor to just kill Adam or use someone he loves as a leverage to make him submit?

Standard comic book logic for why super-heroes can't tell their loved ones is "because if you know, someone could torture you to find out".

So you're basically protecting people from the stress of having to keep the secret, or risk accidentally mentioning that they know it and placing themselves in danger.

No idea in the new cartoon because I haven't watched and no interest in doing so (and even if I did, I don't have Netflix anyway).

But in the original, there's literally only three people who know (it's explicitly spelled out in the opening credits), and two of those knew before he even became He-Man because of an ancient prophecy. And the third was there at the time he first became He-Man. Adam didn't even tell his parents he was He-Man.

Teela's probably just pissy because she's adopted.

Well, four if you count Cringer. But yes, the theme song even states that only three know his secret.

I had always assumed Teela would find out at some point in time when she became the sorceress (since she is the daughter)

That was true in the original as well.

Basically, Adam didn't tell her, but unlike everyone else in Eternia she's not an idiot. So she was able to figure out that her pretty buff blond-haired son with a bowl cut and chin made out of granite and his giant green tiger-thing pet who mysteriously seem to disappear every time He-Man (a muscle dude with a blond bowl cut and chin made out of granite) and his giant green war-tiger show up might be connected somehow.

She never actually admits to knowing, but she kind of hints like "Yeah, I'm not dumb, kid."

It might actually be a plot point that she's the only one on Eternia who isn't an idiot, because she's not from there (she's actually from Earth).

Which might explain why she never tells anyone else, including her husband. Maybe her attitude was "If you're so phenomenally stupid you can't figure it out for yourself, you don't really deserve to know. And would probably screw up keeping the secret if you did, because you dumb."

I suppose it was even more obvious in the original, since Adam was just as buff as He-Man lol

And like literally every episode ended with Teela going "Hey Adam, where were you hiding? You totally just missed He-Man!"

And he'd be like, "Oh, I hope I get to meet him someday, tee hee!"

Man-At-Arms pretty clearly dropped her on her head a LOT while raising her.

Okay, I've watched all five episodes that are up, and the haters can fuck right off; Kevin Smith made me care about Orko.

He Man and Skeletor are in every episode, mostly through flashbacks, but they had about as much screen time as they did in the original, so the complaint they are not in it, is unfounded..

I liked that they debuffed Adam in his base form so he no longer looks like He Man.

I cried at the end of episodes four and five, if you watched them, then you know.

Definitely going to watch the back half when it comes out.

EB games wants me to buy the 9" God Skeletor model from the new series (also shirts!) Link is a spoiler.

https://www.ebgames.ca/Toys-Collectibles/Games/881935/masters-of-the-universe-masterverse-god-skeletor-9

The shirts have a noticeable lack of Teela on them, despite them also saying Revelation across the bottom.

He didn't want to do the sequel and Mattel would not authourize the creation of one, which put the studio in trouble having already spent money on it and a spiderman film that never got off the ground, but since they had all the costumes they slapped together a script in a weekend, and released it under the name Cybog with JCVD which produced two sequels.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyborg_(film)

Frank Langella loved playing the role of Skeletor.

(part of why they tend to do series for 2-3 seasons and then cancel them regardless of whether or not they're good or bad).

Which has generally pissed me off about NF. Granted, the shows I was most disappointed to see canceled were the result of that Disney deal.

Which should be the very demographic that has disposable income, (I mean, I would have that, but I rejected society to live in [what's left] of my beloved swamp) surely I'm the exception and not the norm?

It's a much smaller demographic and not everybody within that demographic buys merch. And the portion that does tends to favor stuff like Pop!s and other mainstream acceptable stuff rather than traditional figures.

CENSOR BYPASS POSTED...

Yeah, merch exists, but it's pricier and far smaller in selection. Back when the cartoons were vehicles for toys, the figures came out non-stop and you had countless variants for a lot of the characters so they could keep selling them.

Probably because nobody besides Kevin Smith gives a shit about Teela? Supposedly she's an anti-draw in the new show.

So if Dolph Lundgren is too old to play He-Man now, who would be the runner up?

I would say Chris Hemsworth, but he's too much onboard with Disney and MCU.

You would need someone super jacked.

And @Fazeo13 to return the mention, although I have mentions turned and I doubt you'll see it on your alt all that quickly.

Honestly, Dolph was more tall than jacked. However, it'd be hilarious to see somebody like John Cena playing both Adam and He-Man... assuming the live-action will have a Prince Adam, which I guess it might not. In that case, you might want to go with somebody even buffer rather.

For the new series or just general MOTU ones? Because they're still doing general MOTU ones. They started coming out again like two years ago at retailers.
