I only really paid all this money and ate all this excellent food to rub in Sunnys face, but now hes not even here for me to gloat

anyway, I doubt most people care about fancy food theyre not eating but Ive got pix if anyone actually cares that much

first course was kir breton. You put that ball in your mouth and after a brief moment it explodes into liquid flavor

i can make the same thing for $1 at home

these are oysters prepared two different ways. That second one is like a cloud covering all the other ingredients

this is a leek tart and there was crunchy leek straw with it (you can see in background)

This was the most interesting and delicious salad Ive ever had. Such a weird and unique mixture of taste, temperature, and texture. Those green things are like a vegetable that has been like turned into dippin dots. Sounds weird, but the salad was fantastic. And the dude made it all in front of us like a science experiment

Idk what this is but it was good.

These two went together and the abalone paired very nicely with the brioche

bowl and smoke was pretty much all presentation. The actual dish was those bite sized things

this is a deconstructed French onion soup lol. You dip the crackers into the stuff and drink the broth on the side. Also, the white circle in the center? Thats like a savory French onion ice cream type thing. Again, sounds weird, but absolutely delicious

These two also went together. That was like a circle of trout and bowl of vegetables and the vegetables tasted like meat even though the entire dinner was pescatarian

I can see why it could come across as pretentious, but I think the deconstruction allowed for an interesting combo here though because it utilizes textures and whatnot Ive never had in French onion soup, but also when its in your mouth it is undeniably (really good) French onion soup

First dessert course was like some tropical ice thing. Almost all the desserts are super delicate, even more so than they look, and just melted in my mouth

my favorite dessert course, lavender ice cream sandwiched between a delicate waffle with a chocolate almond thing on the side

Dessert avocado toast. That bread was like delicious air it was light

and finally a small assortment of chocolates

menu + wine pairing. I think I shared them slightly out of order so its not like a one to one match up. Also, I think she missed getting a picture of the last course before dessert because we had like a small cheese salad that I cant find the picture of (it was the most visually basic thing but still good and fun presentation)

and lastly a photo of me three glasses of wine deep

anyway ask me anything or make fun of stuffy pretentious food idk

sounds cool, hope you had a good time, people who just shit on food like this all the time are boring, not everything has to be practical sometimes food can be an experience.

yeah, I sent some of these pictures to my other friend and he pretty much told me it was dumb. Hes usually a friend who appreciates good food too. The woman I took went to culinary school though, shes the one who got me more interested in food like this, so it was good to share this experience with her (shes also my favorite person so thats cool 2). But yeah, this was more than just about dinner. It was an experience combining food, art, and poetry in a really unique and fun way. Both me and the person I went with greatly enjoyed our time and that to me means it was money well spent!

i have been to a handful of one star locations across the country and many, many bibs and mentions, but this is the first place Ive been to that has more than a single star! So I dont think I have quite the level of familiarity you seem to as I was unaware of that

it was nothing like a grape in texture, taste, etc. I guess its got a similar shape, but in function it served more as like a pre-meal appertif shot

Looks absolutely delicious, OP. I love experimental food and molecular gastronomy so I'm jealous. That salad is mind-blowing. Thanks for sharing your experience!

They look amazing. I would love to taste every one...or maybe frame them lol.

My understanding of Michelin stars is that 3 and 4 aren't going to have much difference food quality wise, but the higher stars are earned through service and atmosphere as well as high food quality.

I think 5 stars is the type that's really strict that all napkins must be 3 inches North of the salad fork, and folded X way, while also being 5 inches East of the water glass or something like that.

If you could eat one of those again, which one would you choose?

Michelin only goes up to three stars! This restaurant is also on the Worlds 50 Best list
