This was the most interesting and delicious salad Ive ever had. Such a weird and unique mixture of taste, temperature, and texture. Those green things are like a vegetable that has been like turned into dippin dots. Sounds weird, but the salad was fantastic. And the dude made it all in front of us like a science experiment

this is a deconstructed French onion soup lol. You dip the crackers into the stuff and drink the broth on the side. Also, the white circle in the center? Thats like a savory French onion ice cream type thing. Again, sounds weird, but absolutely delicious

I can see why it could come across as pretentious, but I think the deconstruction allowed for an interesting combo here though because it utilizes textures and whatnot Ive never had in French onion soup, but also when its in your mouth it is undeniably (really good) French onion soup

menu + wine pairing. I think I shared them slightly out of order so its not like a one to one match up. Also, I think she missed getting a picture of the last course before dessert because we had like a small cheese salad that I cant find the picture of (it was the most visually basic thing but still good and fun presentation)

yeah, I sent some of these pictures to my other friend and he pretty much told me it was dumb. Hes usually a friend who appreciates good food too. The woman I took went to culinary school though, shes the one who got me more interested in food like this, so it was good to share this experience with her (shes also my favorite person so thats cool 2). But yeah, this was more than just about dinner. It was an experience combining food, art, and poetry in a really unique and fun way. Both me and the person I went with greatly enjoyed our time and that to me means it was money well spent!

My understanding of Michelin stars is that 3 and 4 aren't going to have much difference food quality wise, but the higher stars are earned through service and atmosphere as well as high food quality.

I think 5 stars is the type that's really strict that all napkins must be 3 inches North of the salad fork, and folded X way, while also being 5 inches East of the water glass or something like that.
