It's varied by quite a lot.

I used to work 9-5 with a 30 min lunch (37.5 hour weeks as opposed to 40 which is becoming pretty common).

Then I worked 9-5, 40 hrs per week and just skipped the damn unpaid lunch (aka waste of time since it takes 5 mins for me to eat)

Now I work 8-5 and use the remaining 55 mins of my lunch hour to go for a walk outside

730-330 are my core hours, but really I can work whenever I want as long as i can get my shit done and attend required meetings

I work 2:30pm-11pm

Because jobs actually used to 9-5 (or whatever), with paid lunches, that didn't only need to be a half hour long, and sometimes you could just fuck off for the whole afternoon.

i hear you on that one

i get a 30 minute paid lunch...but only if there's 2 guards on duty.

if there is only one guard (myself), i dont get a lunch, i'm expected to eat my lunch while at the desk.
