Its about people with Hoarders Syndrome, where they just buy shit nonstop and hoard it all in there house.
And it takes place in Ferguson, where the riots took place a couple of years back. --- "Social media made you all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it."-Mike Tyson ... Copied to Clipboard!

Dude, the house in Ferguson is a 3 story mansion with a basement, and literally everything including the stairs is covered with junk. --- "Social media made you all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it."-Mike Tyson ... "Just a room"? I mean, yeah, it's a show, they pick out the worst of the worst and then ruin them by handling the situation badly. ... Copied to Clipboard!

A buddy of mine has parents that are hoarders. I went to their house one time and was pretty shocked. He told me there was a bunch of junk but it was beyond what I had imagined. Their whole house was basically just filled with junk and they just had like a narrow path cleared to walk through the house with junk on both sides. I feel like it has to make you crazy to live that way

my friend has hoarder tendencies in his family...or something. From what he tells me, people die and they inherit their stuff, but it just stays in their house.
They do not hoard trash or garbage, and the house is easy enough to walk around in, but there is just stuff everywhere. Most of it useable stuff, it's just, nobody uses it. 7 exercise machines in the living room, for example. They inherit them when people die. I don't know why his mom doesn't get rid of them ... I feel like it has to make you crazy to live that way For people that aren't hoarders, it often does (many of those episodes focus on how strained the relationship is between the hoarder and their friends/family), but for the hoarder themselves, amassing a hoard is such a gradual process that they tend to just get used to it and accept it as a natural part of the lifestyle they feel compelled to live. --- This is my signature. There's a name for it? I thought it was just being called a packrat.
Heh, I wonder if it has anything in common with like Storage Wars or that one other show. But man, living in pure squalor sucks (I imagine at least a few might be like that). But still having so much stuff and having to deal with it all, getting creative, and organising, eesh. --- "Oh glorious Mother Brain! Please save us!" ... Copied to Clipboard!

There's a name for it? I thought it was just being called a packrat. I mean it's considered a mental disorder at this point so of course there is a name for it. I have seen a clip where a woman was aghast at the thought of throwing away or selling any of the things she has in her house. Keep in mind the place was covered in junk, we aren't talking about stacks of valuable relics. They literally have this need to preserve things just in case and it's a very strong desire, the same way someone with OCD would have to open and close a door 20 times every time they come in or out. ... Yeah, that's pretty serious.
I deal with a guy personally who lives on a huge remote lot with random appliances and stuff strewn everywhere. It's absolutely overwheming. I'm not the neatest guy myself, but I'm often trying to manage what I need and don't need (like I got plenty of papers I could scan and then trash). --- "Oh glorious Mother Brain!
