Ranking:
5. Apple. Some shitty practices with locking down the Apple ecosystem? I dunno, I can't think of evil stuff they've done. 4. Google. Selling personal information to advertisers kinda sucks! Also buying out their competition to maintain a monopoly. 3. Facebook. It depends how we gauge this. I feel like they treat their employees well and generally aren't intentionally evil, but they have the biggest negative effect on the world and have the same selling information thing that Google does but worse. 2. Amazon. They do more good than most of the others on this list, but they treat their employees poorly and have a lot of sketchy practices with stealing products and making their own Amazon Basics version. 1. Wal-Mart. They've driven a lot of companies out of business, engaged in a lot of terrible practices, treat their employees terribly, have done more to fight unions than any other company, and have had negative effects in other countries. And on top of that, they haven't really done any good for society, so they don't have anything to redeem them! --- All the stars in the sky are waiting for you. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Walmart's not *that* much smaller. They've also been evil for a longer period of time
They're also more visibly a community destroyer Walmart will roll into a medium/small town, undercut all of the local stores at a loss until they're choked out and have to close, then rise prices again this is without going into the specifics of their practices towards employees and sourcing of inventory When it comes to tech companies, i think amazon treats their workers the worst and facebook is the least responsible with data, but they're all pretty bad --- You did indeed stab me in the back. I think apple's main sin is how its uses sweat shops to build their hardware. But everyone else's stuff also runs on hardware so they're not uniquely culpable

To clarify: Apple is on here because of employee exploitation (remember the Foxconn suicides?), patenting technology they didn't invent, using marketing to brainwash, a lack of charity, and price-gouging - charging $1100 for a phone that doesn't even cost $200 to make is pretty bad, and that set the industry standard. Also that book of "Apple porn" that they charged a few hundred bucks for. They're all about overcharging for their own wallets, and then using lawyers and marketers to make them look like the good guys.
I really dislike all five of these companies though. --- BlueCrystalTear | GNT BB4 Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner [For lease] | (((FREE HUGS))) | You're living your own life. You're you. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Walmart.
Amazon's shitty treatment of employees is partially because Walmart's practices set the precedent for it. Amazon at least pays well. Walmart does not. Facebook and Google are horrible for privacy. Google more than Facebook, because Google is deeper in people's lives. It's much harder to escape Google than Facebook. I hate Apple, but that's more because they're anticonsumer and anticompetitive. To their credit, they improved their labor standards and most of those problems were outside companies they contract with. The other 4 companies do plenty of anticonsumer and anticompetitive practices as well and they do it more than Apple does. --- <D ... Copied to Clipboard!
