But even though this looks highly similar to Pokemon, I like what they got going (already looks to have more action even though I didn't seem to see any of the Pals using some sort of technique)

No? The focus here is on the pokemon and the world they inhabit. It's like watching Yu Gi Oh and wondering why Yugi didn't just pull a pistol and shoot Marek. While it's technically POSSIBLE that's not why anyone watches the show and really just makes the whole thing feel like a waste.

This game was put out by PETA, right?

Watching the trailer it... really... feels... that way. So much of it just feels... carelessly cruel. Like the developers hated pokemon but wanted to make a pokemon game so they made one in which the people treat them like, well, objects. Pokemon's always been clear and firm in it's stance that pokemon and people need to work together and the ideal relationship is a loving trainer who cares for the pokemon. The evil teams, usually the ones that treat them as nothing more than tools, are a violation of this as they use Pokemon as tools to suit their own ends. While the relationship isn't necessarily equal/balanced/fair/whatever the fact is that pokemon and humans are meant to help each other.

This game doesn't feel like this in the slightest. We see the trainer using those beings as tools, forcing them into risking their lives unwillingly, enslavement, and so much more. We see her use an electric type to kill a bunch of water types while fishing among other things. It doesn't help that so many of these beings feel like they just took pokemon models and changed them (like that dog thing is clearly a modified Lycanroc). The guns make it feel additionally violent and cruel. Maybe things are different but this trailer really doesn't convey that and, instead, feels more like a PETA knockoff.

An edgy pokemon esque game where you play as the evil team. No 10 year old is going to stop you.

Well, the visuals are certainly evocative of Pokemon SwSh and some the monster designs almost fall into the "How are we not getting sued?" category.

jfc, do I want this game. The only thing I dislike is that it's a MMO or some sort, so it has a limited shelf life (probably up until it gets sued) and will likely make the gameplay a bit less appealing.
