basically my mom's been with her boyfriend for I dunno over 15 years or something and he's jealous we treat our dad like... our dad, and not him who is... not our dad, and that we have *never* had any such relationship with

we've always hated him and spent the majority of our lives avoiding him (except for gbro who never gives a shit) - when he moved into our old family house the place was literally renovated to section the house into two halves, one for their side one for me and the siblings, and of course he's why i ended up living with my dad in my later years before university (then returning back to my dad's after coming back from japan) as everyone moved away, and he was the driving force for my mom selling the house to move into a condo for just the two of them

he has a son of his own, one in a mental institution that he has no relationship with, he doesn't even have to finance him and he blames all their troubles on his ex-wife, because of course he does

dude's got fucking nothing to do with us beyond keeping our mom away (because holy shit is he the neediest motherfucker who can't leave her alone for 2 hours) and utterly fueling her alcohol problems

but because he's been an absolute failure as a father to his own kid he now wants us to give him the acknowledgment he's lacking but doesn't at all deserve - my mom's recently had the absolute GALL to say we should treat him as our dad and offensively proclaim he's done more for us than or actual dad has (blatantly untrue boomer nonsense) and today that's evolved into her freaking out that my sister made the most basic father's day facebook post (literally happy fathers day i love you) for our father and not for her shithead boyfriend who's always deliberately done his best to make my mom's place inhospitable for us for a great chunk of our lives. now she's kicking her out the condo they've been temporarily setting up in with the baby while looking for their own place - mom says she wants them out by next wednesday. over a fucking father's day post.

so it looks like we'll be taking her in here at my dad's with me.... in a 2 bedroom 1 den apartment for 4 adults 1 baby

i actually enjoyed this game pretty well and boy there's a lot of content... doing a 3rd main story playthrough for yet another difficulty level can wait though, as can the infinity rifts up going up to crazy levels wtf

*edit* wait what a new unlockable character slot appeared... guess I'm not done yet

I've had MUA3 for awhile now but haven't gotten around to it. Is there much point to buying the DLC right away or is it mostly late game stuff?

it's a lot of separate stuff

Curse of the Vampire adds Gauntlet Mode, which are challenges made up of multiple stages (eg. the first one recommended level 5 has Defeat 100 Enemies, then goes into a Defeat Nebula stage, then a Defeat 40 [strong] Enemies one). There are seemingly 14 gauntlets, building up to level 100.

After the first clear of a challenge, when you replay these challenges they loop indefinitely until you die or just opt to retire.

CotV also adds Nightmare Mode, which is just a new even stronger difficulty mode (greater than Superior and Ultimate) of the main story adding in the concept of Cursed/Infected/Reborn enemies.

It also adds the SHIELD Depot, a shop for buy character voiced lines, exp stuff and ISOs for a token currency one from the DLC challenges, Best bit is offering an unlimited stock of EXP cubes for the cost of gold tho!

As for unlocking the characters, that's through Gauntlet's first 5 challenges of variable recommended levels (Punisher 10, Blade 20, Moon Knight 25, Morbius 30)

at this point I should mention I beat main story Mighty difficulty at around level 45-50 I think?

Rise of the Phoenix

This one adds some more Gauntlets, bunch more SHIELD Depot costume rewards, and the new feature Danger Room. Danger Room is like a competitive mode you race against your opponent party against a set of rift-style challenges. Along the way completing sub-tasks to sabotage your opponent's team (like inflicting confusion status). You can play Danger Room against player or AI teams, so still single-player friendly. Base recommended Danger Level challenges are level 20.

New characters are again obtained through Gauntlet, this time at higher levels (although still the first Gauntlets of the pack). Ice Man 25, Gambit 30, Cable 35, Jean Grey 40.

Shadow of Doom

A few more Gauntlets... this time ranging from levels 90 to 170. New Danger Rooms, and again of course new costumes.

However this time you unlock the new characters through the added Epilogue story mode. After the first stage which is a partial retread of Wakanda you meet the Fantastic Four at I think level 40 or 45, one or the other. From this point I actually just did the rest of the story using them as my party for it, so I guess if you can get through Wakanda you can get through the epilogue and unlock Doom (although the final boss I absolutely had to abuse XP Cubes to level up and restore HP/EP). The final final character as I mentioned is gonna be clearing the epilogue on Ultimate Difficulty.

Free DLCs

Cyclops/Colossus are under the Rifts, I believe level 20-something challenges available right away.
