To be fair, Biden shouldn't be speaking to McConnell. He should be pretending McConnell doesn't exist, and be speaking to Manchin and Sinema. Working with Republicans is impossible at this point. They made sure of that by attaching themselves to Trump's ass.

Biden isn't going to reach deals with Republicans by not even trying. He's doing something Democrats haven't done since the Bush presidency which is try to deal in good faith with Republicans. And he already has some results to show for it. It turns out he may have something Republicans want.

It occurred to me today that if there's any reason for mail-in voting to cause mass fraud regarding the election, it's...by those votes not being counted. Much of the already-flimsy argument for the election being stolen goes up in smoke as a result.

"Reach out to Republicans" doesn't have to mean "Work with McConnell."

We already know McConnell is not willing to do anything in good faith, so there's no point talking to him. Regardless, as it stands right now, Republican votes are still necessary to get anything done because of certain morons. Those votes don't have to include McConnell's and they obviously never will.

The likelihood of actually getting Republican votes is pretty much nil, but that doesn't mean he can just "Fuck Republicans" outright.

I never understood the Bernie stans. He has some good ideas, but the whole "use tax dollars to wipe out student debt" concept is where he loses me. Why should anyone pay to subsidize someone else's stupid decisions? If you took out so much student debt that you are having trouble paying it off, you either spent way too much on your education (going out of state/country for that "college experience") or you got a degree that doesn't in any way lead to gainful employment.
