Introducing doctor strange in the last episode in a major role would make it too much about him. But I guess it depends on how prominently he was going to be featured. He had appeared in a comedic cameo in only one other episode. It was stupid, undermined the stakes of the whole thing, and made any victory feel unearned. Part of the Agatha / Wanda stuff near the end was about how Wanda has her powers without any of the magical knowledge that other witches spend their lives researching. Wanda beats Agatha by applying what's apparently fundamental witch stuff that she picked up on the spot from Agatha. We knew someone was doing it.
