So, I like Dr Strange, but if he had shown up in the last episode to save Wanda, it literally would have ended with "A wizard did it".

And Wanda isn't a Mary Sue at all.

the finale could have been handled better. i would have taken anything that's not a goddamn CGI fight sequence...

heck Vision's phylosophical debate with his white self was probably my favorite part of that episode. lol

I actually think he's right, mainly about how this is meant to be Scarlet Witch's story. Introducing doctor strange in the last episode in a major role would make it too much about him.

But I guess it depends on how prominently he was going to be featured. Giving him a small cameo seems like it might not take too much attention from the protagonist of the series.

And yet I don't think Luke showing up at the end of Mandalorian season 2 took away from it being Mandos show.

People very likely would have ended up hating this if it had been anything less than one of the most famous characters in pop culture history swooping in and saving the day. I don't think Strange has the level of clout necessary to hype the viewers far past the point of caring about the deus ex machina.

It was the right choice. Its Wandas story. In addition to the reasons he said - it also just keeps things simple. Even though theres a lot going on in the MCU, they keep their individual stories simple. Which is why they cut The Living Tribunal from Infinity War and there was no Mephisto or Richard Reed or Strange in WandaVision. Thank god some of yall arent in charge of a movie studio lmao.

She literally forced her black neighbors into subjugation in order to play out her 1950s fantasies. And if that parallel wasnt shocking enough, she literally forces them to adopt new names too. Sorry, Kunta. Your name is Toby now.

So yeah, this show aint half as woke as Feige wants it to be. Doctor Strange showing up to lock up Super Karen is hardly the sore point of this series.

It wouldn't have worked and this hasn't happened in any MCU story. It disregards the journey the protagonist is on.

At most he could have been in the post-credits scene where she was reading the book but seems like they're setting up something completely different.

Yeah, because Wanda just realizing "oh wow, I guess this is pretty fucked up and I'm the villain here, better stop" then flying away to face zero consequences for abducting and holding a town hostage weeks was a much more woke ending

I liked WV, but I hate that she basically gets a complete pass for what she did and was even painted as the victim lol

It is this old Trope that really doesn't come up to much. But it is like when a black character is a crazy loyal to the white character and puts the white character before themselves. That is what she reminded me of. There was literally no logical reason for Monica to be that much in the tank for Wanda. She said said she didn't care about her cells breaking a part because she had to help Wanda I mentally check out. I just stayed around hoping to see something cool with QS and we got a penis joke.

I knew that were going to make the general the bad guy. But before white vision he was 100% right in his actions.

It's so easy to fix too. Instead of that bullshit she actually said, just have Monica try and convince Wanda to turn herself in and consent to the punishment. Wanda can still fly away because who's going to stop her, but Monica looks good for making the effort. It also helps make Wanda look more sinister.

The General starts his role in the story by keeping Vision's body to experiment on without the knowledge of authorities and telling Wanda to fuck off. Which sends her on a dark path to begin with.

The Director (not general) was never, ever even remotely right in his actions.

And how is anyone going to stop Wanda when she leaves? Literally no one there can. It's an ongoing story, she's probably going to be the villain for a chunk of Strange 2, let's see where they take it.

I do agree that Monica should have tried to convince her to turn herself in.

I doubt she'll be the primary villain but I don't think her direction really indicates she's going to be a morally righteous heroic character either. She has way too much power to not fuck up things more.
