His mother called police in March 2020 to raise concerns that he had just bought a shotgun and feared he was going to commit suicide by cop and became enraged when she asked what he planned on doing with the firearm and said he was going to point the unloaded gun at a cop so they could shoot him. He told his mother "This is not the life i want to live, i'll end it my way" He was taken into custody and according to a report, he became immediately anxious and begged officers to turn off his power strip on his pc because he didn't want anyone to see what's on it They went into his room and seized his shotgun and witnessed white supremacist websites on it where he was then taken to a mental hospital for treatment But in the end, the FBI who interviewed the teen found no criminal violation and determined there was no "racially motivated violent extremism ideology" found He never appeared before a judge under the red flag law as they needed to convince the judge his suicidal thoughts were a danger to him or others and they could not prove that and he was set free They never returned his shotgun however but he went on to legally buy 2 rifles, a Ruger AR-556 Hole and HM Defense HM15F Those were there 2 assault rifles he used to gun down the FedEx employees where reports state many did not have their CELLPHONES with them to call for help because of company policy His FB posts offer little insight on what drove him to the shooting other than he had a fetish for MY LITTLE PONY, also known as "Bronies" a mash up of bro and ponies, a subculture of adult men obsessed with the kids show and has displayed elements of far right and white nationalist extremism The Brony Subculture emerged after it debut in 2010 and had early links with the military as many active duty service members professed their love to the children's cartoon and the first gathering of the BronyCon where adult men dressed up as MLP occurred in 2010 but only 100 adult showed up in costumes Do you think it's weird that adult far-right men have a my little pony fetish?.. We've had this gun chit-chat before. More thorough background checks aren't 'constraining the 2nd amendment', and they aren't discriminatory, and they work elsewhere.

I've talked to a couple of guys that are avid MLP fans around Hole's age while hanging around my daughter who's written MLP fan fiction that's been published online. Their discussions have touched on inclusion in society for everyone, even those who aren't supposedly the 'upper tier' unicorns. In fact the two I talked with despised the unicorns for acting 'superior' to everyone else in the MLP universe; so it's surprising to me that a MLP fan would hit white supremacy websites unless they had other problems.

Mostly, it's just an entertaining cartoon that's reminiscent of a lot of the better stuff that came out of the 90's (at least the first couple seasons, I haven't watched past S1 and I believe it kind of falls off after 2). The "brony" subculture is a consequence not of the show being anything particularly special, but of people revelling in the amusing irony of adult males enjoying My Little Pony (which is completely within the creator's intent, since the idea was to create a show that parents - half of whom are adult males - could enjoy watching with their children). That's been further galvanized by the sheer weirdness of it all turning it into a sort of secret shame that can only be enjoyed in anonymous online communities, the consequence of which is that a sizable number of people who struggle to fit in to society take an interest in it because that admits them into a community that accepts them for being weird. Mostly, seeing him described as a fetishistic brony and fledgling white supremacist just tells me he spent a lot of his free time hanging around 4chan. Presumably he was very socially inept and bullied at school and work for that, found solace in white supremacy telling him that he was something special just for being white, and ultimately tried using violence to solve his bullying problems. --- This is my signature.
