Back then I had Chuck-E-Cheese parties where you would basically invite your whole class (and any other friends/family you had not in your class), so 20-30 sounds about right. Most of the birthday parties I went to I never even talked to the person who's birthday it was, I would just play games with one or two people I knew.

What'd you vote for? I haven't voted and probably won't vote because it's hard to come up with an aggregate. Even if I was to exclude parties I'd attended (which could be huge when I was in more urban settings or small when it was at something like a zoo or museum) and just look at parties for me, that number had a pretty wide range depending on the party. It really depended on a lot of things. Im not sure if there is really an average, tbh... Some times I had sleepovers with close friends and family. Usually like 8-20 kids, depending. But then, I also sometimes had parties during the day that were like even more friends and family than usual that had like 50-100 people. But, we would also sometimes have double parties for me and my grandma, whose birthday is 6 days after mine. Then, we start holding triple parties because my sisters birthday is the day before mine. So, hard to say since we shared some of the guests...

I guess my 20-50 range is the most obtuse. 30 doesn't seem odd at all, definitely went to a lot of big birthday parties like that in my younger years. I would just fucking hate having a 60+ person party because my child had turned 12 XD. In my fam the only parties with like 70-100+ people were for 50th birthdays, 50th anniversaries, 80th birthdays...stuff like that where it makes sense. I'm just further outing myself as an asshole lmao. Also just thought your claim that those sorts of things are defined by being "inner-city" or not to be an odd claim! 10-20, but a lot of my parties were with family and I have a lot of cousins so all of our parties were about that size when we were kids.

I never had any because I despised the attention. This, more or less. My parents probably would have had parties for me if I'd wanted, but I never wanted to deal with the fuss. We'd usually just have a few close family members (mainly adults) over for cake and coffee, and I'd mostly just wait to get the presents and then slink off somewhere. The idea of parties in general always kind of bothered me as a kid. By the time I actually started getting keen on parties (mainly as a teenager and older), it was at a point when I'd stopped caring about the concept of birthdays. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ... Depended on whether my cousins and friends could make it or not. Sometimes we'd have a big group and have it at like, Chuck E. Cheese, sometimes it was just a few friends or cousins who spent the night swimming, eating pizza and playing video games.
