Even as a white person, I've never really felt like I could accurately represent my skin colour with the crayons available in a standard box. This should be useful for pretty much anyone that's trying to draw a human.

Why would someone be bothered by them released more colors? I mean, I think it's a bit stupid to release a box containing just skin tones as it's useful only for coloring people, but that's not the issue here.

Modern conservatives were those kids who would have the Crayola 64-pack with the sharpener in the back and wouldn't share any, even the colors they didn't like and never used. And now they're trying to prevent even more colors from coming out so they can continue to monopolize their hold on the crayons. We need to fight back!

My first thought is that I'm not bothered by this even a little, but thinking about it a bit more, isn't giving something like this to children reinforcing the idea that skin color is very important and something they should be paying a lot of attention to? Maybe that's the way early education is heading, idk, but it seems to be the reverse direction of a post-racial world.

Personally I would break down those 24 crayons into 4 different crayons. The pinks, almonds, browns and dark browns. Good. I distinctly remember as a kid in elementary school not having a crayon or colored pencil to give a color to white people. I'd have to ask one of the kids who had those giant box sets for "peach" and even that was still an odd color sometimes.
