Pffff what's wrong with distinguishing minute differences in colours? I think we can celebrate every shade will observing a wider degree of shades for skin tones...in crayons. You started off your first post in this topic in a pretty agreeable way, but had to make it...your weird racial theories.

In-group racism isn't a "weird racial theory," it's a documented phenomenon. Educate yourself.

I agree. Now we can stop calling the races by the wrong names. There aren't any black people, they're deepest almond people. Though I expect problems if you do call someone deepest almond but they're actually extra deep golden. I'm starting to understand why progressives hate people with colorblindness. This is already proving to be quite educational.

Acknowledging that race exists hardly reinforces it as being significant. No one's truly colorblind: everyone can see racial differences, they just don't matter beyond that simple visual difference (and medical concerns and the occasional other practical issue, but obviously those aren't particularly relevant to crayons). Using a crayon that more closely matches somebody's skin colour isn't reinforcing the significance of race, it's just drawing what you see.

Calling attention to and reinforcing differences goes far further than "acknowledging" differences in skin tone. And there's an inherent danger in trying to build up a social significance in racial difference (as opposed to a medical difference) instead of trying to emphasize our commonalities.

This is like when lego created flesh colored minifigures.

It's like a thing that had nothing to do with race suddenly has race introduced and it's awkward
theyre just crayon colors though. Hows it different than having skin colored paint? The people complaining are the ones making it problematic.

No. I saw people as people, until I started seeing people as crayons.

And you believe that crayons are "social significance"?

I'm bothered by how racist people are against mere crayons.

Opinions are my own. You may criticize ideas, but don't attack people.

The crayons are suppose to represent skin tones that people have.
The topic title calls it a RACIALLY DIVERSE BOXSET!!!
So the crayons are a stand in for the race attribute of people.
The crayons represent different races. Thus races aren't people, races are color differences.
I don't think it's that much of a leap from the information presented.

I mean, yeah. That is basically the point people make when they say that race doesn't matter: it's just a colour difference. The colour of a skin doesn't indicate anything about the person wearing it.
