I was quite surprised to hear Cobblestone villagers speaking in a Somerset accent!

But not as surprised as hearing Drippy from Ni No Kuni speaking in a Welsh accent (my native land) and is actually voiced by Dave Coaches from Gavin and Stacey (who appears to be channeling his inner Rhod Gilbert)

British-voiced fantasy is a very well worn trope but I appreciate when they add regional diversity to it (beyond posh voiced royal + working class stereotype).

Musics kind of dope.

Really liked that there were several different options to get back into the city. The cut scene that showed all the different options was really cool, and I ended up just finding a secret path and choosing none of them.

If that sort of open ended questing keeps up Im going to enjoy this game.

Wow, I only played the demo but the music was the weakest part for me and I think it's regarded pretty poorly. There were so few tracks!

Music is one of the most complained about parts of DQ11 lol

What's there is good, its just like 10 tracks total for the entire game.

It was a bigger complaint before S edition, back when all of it was midi. Some of it still is, though

I love everything in the game, except the music. Havent played S edition, but there is maybe one track in the game I would consider great. Otherwise its just ok and way too repetitive.

Its been so long since Ive played a dragon game, that I forgot how goofy and stylized the monsters are. One of my favorite things about persona 5 is how much style everything has, and whIle DQXI is certainly not anywhere close, I do appreciate the consistent goofy style. I run into battle with something that looks hilarious and it gives me a little enjoyment.

What does not give me enjoyment is getting wiped in this labyrinth thing which is the first time Ive died. Hopefully the game doesnt expect me to grind levels, because that would suck

You really don't have to grind at all in the game.

Maybe a bit for the very end game's harder bosses but by that point its really, really easy to do with metal slime tricks so its not even really grinding then either.

There are a couple of difficulty spikes that can be tough, though.

Grinding hasnt been required in a Dragon Quests main story since like III or IV

Seems like a good enough place to ask.

I remember one of my favorite games I ever emulated was I think Dragon Warrior 3 for the game boy color that started out by asking personality questions and a moral scenario.

How was that game related to dragon quests exactly? Why was it warrior instead of quest

Dragon Warrior is Dragon Quest

Some other company already had the trademark for Dragon Quest in the US at the time so they had to change the name

Dragon Warrior was already copyrighted in the west. Once that copyright expired, they changed it to Dragon Quest over here too (starting with DQ8)

Yeah thats what I meant, and if you changed everybodys job at the same time in III you might need to grind again a little bit since they go back to level 1

6 hours I or so. Horse racing game was fun.

Game has been fine, but hasnt been gripping me like some RPGs have. I think its mostly because its been going around and doing things for reasons, as opposed to something like P5 where even the early trials felt important in a micro sort of way specific to your character.

It also doesnt have a big grand story grip like FFX. Its kind of in between which is a bad place to be.

Im probably going to compare this game to P5 a lot, as its one of, if not my favorite game ever.

I apparently have like 10 to choose from and I think Ive used them 4 times in 9 hours or something. They just seem so incredibly niche.
