There's a very strong, cohesive story in Tokyo Revengers.

I stopped watching the anime after episode 3 though so dunno how that's going.

EDIT: Actually the manga just went into its final arc and I do think it's trying to do way too much here based on the first few chapters.

Having only seen the anime it still seems to be developing characters more than most shounen series for whatever little thats worth lol

I mean Bakugo and the Todoroki family are great, I'm talking about the useless 1-A kids that only get screentime by virtue of being part of the class.

A good amount of people think various points towards the end get messy and not tied up, and there are some I agree with them on Chimeras, like they go absolutely nowhere but generally I enjoyed the ride/ending. However I do recognize that some of it would be a bit tough to adapt for the anime, but I have faith in Orange considering they rearranged and altered a bit in season 2 and it worked out very well.

I love Beastars, but I am mostly happy that it will be over so Orange can get back to Land of the Lustrous <_<;

I know most people in this topic don't follow Boruto, but this is something that should be noted.

Naruto has 3 Kids now. He adopted Kawaki. From just taking him into his home to help rehabilitate him and help him past his PTSD/post-torture symptoms to officially seeing him as a second son. That "edgy-looking kid" people wrote off after first seeing him is probably one of Kishi's most well-written characters.

If youve seen Gotens debut episode in Z he hasnt aged a day appearance wise even though he should be like 13 at the end of Supers anime. Trunks hasnt aged either even though he should be the same age as his Future self who was training with Gohan. It doesnt really make any sense because theyre both older than Gohan when he fought Cell and they look as about old as Gohan when he was 4 at the very first Z episode lol

What makes it worse is neither is real aging mentally either. They both still act like theyre 6-7 years old

None of that answers my question.

Id say Goten looks a little bit younger than start of DB Goku though I think Supers art tries to make Goten look even younger than his DBZ self too. Theyre pretty close though because Goten is basically a copy of Kid Goku.

Something about Rezero doesn't jive with me, and I think it's how much it feels like it's purposefully leaving on the backburner. It feels like there's going to be payoff for the slow worldbuilding, but I don't feel like I have a reason to care about the other characters besides the fact that Natsuki cares. Like he cares so much about other people that it makes him more compelling, but I don't really have a reason to care about Emilia who's entire purpose is being the MC's motivation. The twins actually have a story going on, but it's taking an entire 8 episodes to develop when I feel like the main premise still hasn't been acknowledged? Like why does this dude not care that he's been isekai'd.

I mean I don't even know if these are valid complaints because I think enough hints have been dropped that the writer has a strong idea about where he's going, I just would have liked something stronger to grab onto in the meantime I guess. Production values doing hella work right now.

I'm not sure it's "slowness" in and of itself that I have a problem with, but dangling too many plot threads & characters at the start and then slowly unraveling them. If a show starts off very simple and stays there for a while before getting complex, I'm generally 100% on board (like One Piece, which introduces very little that's not immediately relevant, but many say has a slow build.)

Yeah, One Piece was really good for that. They introduced Gol D. Roger and the One Piece early on, and dealt with both of them in the first 10 episodes.
