Howdy friends, as always I'm 1-2 years behind anything notable that may have aired. I have a sudden urge to get caught up on new shows I may have missed. Any recs?

Also holy god AnoHana was 10 years ago? Any people think it was notable enough that the anniversary needs to be marked?

AnoHana is a lot of people's favorite anime, from what I've seen.

I like it a good bit, though some of the plotholes are very painful to get over.

I remember the reception being mixed, some people definitely loved it and others not caring for it. Maybe over time it gained more appreciation?

EDENS ZERO - Havent really seen anyone talk about this series much, but Ill be checking it out. Manga kinda came out around the time I quit reading manga and scanlating was starting to die....

86: Eighty Six - First off the title is dumb, but thankfully the description sounds interesting enough to check out.

Megalo Box 2 - Megalo Box was fine enough Id probably watch a sequel.

Moriarty Part 2 - Never seen the first and probably wont ever see it.

Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won't Lose - If she loses Im suing the author and glorious Japan as well

Combatants Will Be Dispatched! - Can we please just get more fucking Konosuba instead?!

MARS RED - A vampire anime huh. When was the last good one even??

Koikimo - Another FBI Alert show. Yikes.

Shadows House - Description seems interesting so its something Id consider checking out.

TWEWY anime - Ive never even played the game.

SSSS.DYNAZENON - I need to finish S1 still, but I recall liking the episode I saw.

Vivy: Fluorite Eyes Song - What if Terminator was a friendly robot girl.

Megalobox was a very popular and beloved show, don't know why you guys are acting like it was some big miss lol.

The fights were boring IMO but everything else was great.

Oh the fights are nothing but that's never what it was about, as strange as that is to say. Sure you can make the argument "then what's the point of a show about boxing", but it all had to do with everything surrounding the fights, with the characters and their stories. Very well done in those aspects and I was very drawn in and entertained by it.

megalo box was relatively popular and well received.

But its not like in beloeved status.

I know it was popular, but it still wasn't that good in my opinion. i appreciate the retro/sunrise aesthetic it went for but it didn't click with me, and I am usually all about the dad-anime.

Dr. Stone sounds ridiculous but has a pretty neat OP. Same with Akudama Drive.

Love the vibe of Eizouken, might have to watch that.

Also I didn't realize we're right at the beginning of a new season, might be fun to check out what's airing.

Yeah I thought Megalobox was generally pretty well liked by people that watched it.

That said I didn't really like it either though I couldn't tell you why. Just failed to grab me, though that doesn't really mean much considering boxing is not a sport that particularly appeals to me. The style was pretty cool though.

I found the premise of the show dumb from the start. Humans can't beat cyborgs at boxing.

Refuting that "humans can't beat cyborgs at boxing" is basically the plot of like 20-30% of all shounen anime.

I mean, is it? Like Naruto's supposed to be an ordinary guy, but then he's a super chosen one which is why he's so powerful. Ichigo's an ordinary human, but then he has powers of half a dozen different groups which is why he's so powerful. Shounen protagonists are usually special in some way or another.

And Megalobox failed to make it believable. I feel like if it wanted to do that plot well, it should've focused more on the weaknesses the cyborgs had. It established their strength so well from the start that it felt like bad writing to me when they lost.

Humans beating cyborgs at boxing is about as believable as all those incel ass MC's who get multiple waifus oogling over them yet yall still watch all those kinds of shows (I do too occasionally as well I won't front)
