VIAC and DISCA are super short term plays to make money off the margin call. Trouble is, the banks might not be finished liquidating that fund's position. Hard to tell.

I get a little pain from DNN if it doesn't go up to $2.50 by April 16

I get a decent amount of pain if it doesn't go up to $1.50 by July 16

Have enough actual shares and conviction that it'll be a $10 stock by 2025 that I feel like I'll make a profit either way but I still like it to go up by July 16. It's just a rough market right now.

Put that money into IEA instead and thank me when you're $100,000 richer in 2 to 6 months.

I won't even go into the research and the catalysts it has because it probably won't work on you. So instead for something that might: just look at the charts. EVRI has never been over 20. IEA was literally just at 23. I don't pay too much attention to these, but a quick google search shows almost every financial investment site has EVRI at hold and IEA at buy. Motley Fool really likes them especially and has a few glowing pieces on them.

Okay I think those are the things that you care about. Trust me on this one. You bought the riskiest stock I ever brought up here so buy the safest and thank me when I more than make up for the money you lost there.

also as an aside I own exactly 1 share of IEA (just to watch it without clicking my watchlist, lol) and am in on the warrants. bigly in

Hah. It's a brand new company that only recently went public via the SPAC process. Like many SPACs the price fell dramatically during the acquisition process and they proved to be one of the successful ones shortly after. I think I've mentioned this before here, but there were a few lucky discord folks who bought IEA warrants at 20 cents - the same warrants that were just $6. It's the crowning achievement of that discord thus far, shame I was holding bags in AVCT at the time and had no free money.

For some quick tidbits of research, here's a post summing up their need-to-know fundamentals:

https://www.reddit.com/r/stocks/comments/l1el9k/diligence_discussion_infrastructure_and_energy/

Here's a Motley article that goes decently in depth with some specifics I find bullish as well:

https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/01/29/one-renewable-energy-stock-to-buy-and-one-to-avoid/

Here's the smartest person on the discord doing some extra DD that I really, really like on another potential outlet of revenue for them soon:

A combination of the overall market pullback at large, a secondary offering at the beginning of February priced at 16.75, and the SPAC sector in general having had too huge of a bull run that they all came plummeting together. IEA just didn't deserve to pull back this hard and is dramatically oversold. It's also easily manipulated by shorts due to its low float - I guarantee you there are funds shorting significantly to bring down the price before the infrastructure bill is passed so they can load up on long positions. That's their playbook.

What's your average? I think this puppy will move very quick again when the infrastructure stuff happens. I'm hoping it becomes one of the few green stocks even if the market stays choppy for a while, but yeah these market conditions are rough. And that's the nature of warrants, they swing dramatically on their moves up and down. If you're below a 4 average, I can't imagine these not hitting 8 before the end of the year. Easy double bagger. But below 2.50, now that's just a lovely price.

E: And hopefully those research links will help shed some light on why you'll be fine sooner rather than later!

Yeah selling right now seems to me to be a bad choice unless you think a company *in particular* is never going to go back up. I strongly support having a significant portion of the portfolio in ETF's in general though.

I'm thinking of selling my 200 shares of AMC though.... my cost basis is $12.35, so selling for $10.40 is a bit of a loss, but if you include all the covered calls I've sold my cost basis is really only around $7. so I've made money and can use the money elsewhere. Calls right now are not selling for much so I don't want to lock into one right now.

But then... it sounds like red sox is calling another GME rally, and that always raises AMC somehow too.... maybe I'll just hold for a couple more weeks.

Panicked is definitely the wrong word. Exhausted is closer, and questioning if I want to invest the time and effort into trying to beat the market when I have so far been unsuccessful and almost everyone cant is closest.

I havent actually sold much, but I have no enthusiasm of trying to push money around different loser stocks.

And for the record I encouraged Moonroof to put all of his money in an index fund!

It doesn't take that much time and effort to buy and hold long term. Where most of the work comes in is trying to play short term fluctuations. That work is both time and energy intensive and is very difficult.

If you started trading individual stocks 2 months ago, that was around a market high (at least for tech/growth). Don't let your view of the relative merits of buying individual stocks vs. broad indices be colored by the timing of the entry point.

It is always your problem, and it is never the market's problem. The market will not care one iota if you lose money, or what you invested in.

I think what you need to do is just stop following the stock market as much, moreso than swapping over to index funds.

Keep an eye on news (not price) of your stocks to be sure what you've chosen are still winning moves, but that's the extent of the attention you probably should be paying right now if you don't have extra funds to be using to invest. Like great stock picks will outdo indexes by a lot. Heck just good ones will outdo indexes. If you believe in what you have then you'll win out.

If the temptation to make plays isn't there it's much easier to be okay with sitting on red stocks.

How you lose is by selling something red that you had no real reason to doubt and only went down a little because you think this other play can make up the loss and then some.

I'm 13k down in the past month and I feel fine. That's like 1/3 my portfolio value. I'm sure you're down much less. So don't worry about it.
