Been looking forward to it ever since it was announced despite not liking how a few things about it sound. Helps that based on the demo Magnamalo is already one of my favourite monsters in the series. Can't beat the fucker because the time limit is insanely strict and 90% of my MH skill has vanished over the past year or so but holy crap this thing is super fun to fight, has a cool design and great music.

I haven't needed Gajau stuff yet in Rise but I remember constantly having to get parts from them in World, enough so that my first thought on seeing them was to groan a little. They live to annoy, I guess.

finally, whisker on my 29th carve which means at 28 failures I reached a binomial probability of 0.19% bad luck

and just to rub it in while finishing off the mission, gajaus #30-32 gave me 2 additional whiskers after failing to get 1 for so long.... jerk-ass self-aware RNG

Are there Investigations? Both of those really helped with the grind in World.

Hammer is so fucking good in this game. I mean, its always been good, but I love the new stance and the wirebug moves feel so good to do.

I love how much exploration the wire bug lets you do. Everything feels great and I think they took the right things from World to implement into the more classic style.

Also, Sword and Shield is crazy. The Spinning Reaper move does a ton of damage and comes out quickly, and the spin attack Wirebug move charges up so fast and combos from anything so easily. If you've picked up an extra wirebug you can do it like three times a minute and just shred monsters and mount them really fast.
