Ive made a few games that have been hits with my friend groups, but mostly designed it out of poker chips and playing cards and such. I feel kinda bad releasing something that costs money that can be made out of starbursts. But I guess I can view it as a premium kinda thing. I think I can figure this out.

In addition to an abstract...I want to make a big campaign game with really nice components and a narrator and storybook and such. Like it would ship to you in four shipments of 25 lbs each and youd pay for it ten years in advance. It seems like it would cost a lot to hire an artist for that much art and a novelist and a narrator and then marketing and logistics and how to even price it since it needs priced before its fully made.

Also when I want to make things I feel bad because the market is already flooded with things and its not like we need more things.

You could say the market is flooded with videogames but there's always room for more

I mean, you could literally make a monopoly board out of paper and play it, so I don't really see a problem...

On a side note, Stardew Valley recently released a board game. I ever heard it had multiplayer...

I get inspired by games that arent necessarily my favorites, but clever uses of components and epic scopes get me. I like a lot of what Chip Theory Games is doing with components. Upcoming Middara, and Aeons Odyssey rad for their scope. I like components that can also be played anywhere without huge worry of damage in quick 2p games like Hive and Santorini. My first focus will probably be a 2p modern abstract but I need to read up on the publishing scene more, I got a few books on game design recently and one on publishing games on kickstarter, should at least give a good start.

Is it? Ive posted about dinners at castles and skyscrapers in the past but those only cost like $30-40. I was posting the other day about being able to be happy spending ~10k a year and was told that I had the worst gimmick on the board then. I dont even know what my gimmicks are.

I have a few Kickstarter games coming in Im pretty excited for that arent to much of a stretch from this <_<
