Our uniform policy didn't allow trench coats. The dudes who probably would have worn them wore fingerless gloves instead.

I saw a guy in junior high wearing one. unfortunately it came at a bad time not long after the Columbine High shooting where I think the two perpetrators called themselves members of the "trench coat mafia" or some such thing. at least one student pointed him out to everyone around him. "trench coat mafia!"

Yes. I knew him too. He was a friend of a friend

Guy always had on a heavy coat even near the end of the school year when it was warm out. I never understood how he could survive. Guy was into Vampire The Masquerade PnP rpg, and he would pretend even when not playing the game that he was a vampire.....and not just any vampire. He said he was the Prince (head vampire of a city) of our town. And always wanted people to treat him like that. Dude was....well, strange

Oh God this reminds me shortly after I moved to a new town in my late teens there was a buncha trenchcoat and fedora kids (who were before their time with the fedora tbf) who came up to me several times going "Steve wtf where have you been?"

Happened several times and every time I was like "I'm not Steve man I have never met you before," but they kept it up all the same. It was weird.

My baby mama was the cat ear girl.

She was super gothy and always wore some kind of "extra" outfit. Complete with chains and fishnets and sometimes cat ears.

we had a guy who called himself tanuki and he wore a fox head cap thing like in super mario brothers
honestly didn't like the guy, he was kind of narcissistic, but I think that probably came from years of self-defense against bullying.
felt kind of bad when someone threw his hat into the toilet one day -_-

we also had a guy who would practice miming during lunch time, a lot of people made fun of him, also felt bad for him because he lived with a foster family, his foster mom had bought him a CD player and some kids were being dicks and broke it. Then he got in a fight with them and got suspended :(

I remember seeing kids wearing them in middle school but then Columbine happened and they stopped

I think the trenchcoat kid evolved into the "goth kids" who werent goth, they just wore hot topic shit with straps and chains and stuff to try to stand out

I think we had a trench coat kid or two. I know Goth/Emo was in then. I don't recall any cat ear girls, but we had a couple Naruto headbanders. They were younger than me so I didn't know them.

I was in high school right at the end of the 80s into the early 90s. So a couple trench coat guys but no cat ear girls. We did have alot of kids who did the "overalls with one strap down" look as well as the jean shorts and long sleeve dress shirt outfit, aka the Boyz 2 Men look.

One of the courses I took in college had a "fedora guy" for each year with the exact same look. Long black hair and goatee with a fedora, all black clothes and a trench coat.

It was a 2 year course and there was one in mine, the year ahead of me and a new one when I was in second year.

I don't think so. We didn't have any cat ear wearers, fedora tippers, Naruto runners, or other very weird types of people. While I'm not that old, it still was a bit of a different time when I was in HS (04-08) so nerds were less open about their nerdiness. All the nerdy groups looked "normal".
