Who majored in a science?

What was your experience? Was it hard? Was it rewarding? Are you working in your field? When / how did you know you wanted to major in that?

I have to confess that physics was no where near as fun as Star Trek made it out to be. Wait a minute. This is all math.

hard? - it was fine. graduated cum laude, but i was always good at math and science.

rewarding? - yeah, i find my work about as rewarding as work can be. its usually interesting and it evolves rapidly enough that there's always something new to learn

working? - yup. been a software engineer for almost 16 years now

when? - i took a CS class in high school (10th grade) and after like two weeks i knew what i was going to do for my career.

I just started a geography and geospatial sciences program. Haven't gotten too much into the hard science aspect of it, kinda dreading the math >_>

I wouldn't necessarily classify engineering disciplines into science. Though I wouldn't put math into that category either. *shrug*

computer science

experience: pretty awful overall, I feel like I learned very little and instead just had all my passion for anything programming related stripped away instead
hard: no not at all
rewarding: see experience
working: not currently, though I have in the past at multiple different places and hated them all

by far the single worst decision of my life :/

Environmental Science; minors in Biology and Chemistry. Sounded cool with a range of post-education jobs that I would've liked to do, partially due to a background in Boy Scouts.

Experience was good enough. There were a lot of labs which sucked up time but also were literal field trips that were educational and interesting. One class had us learning how to delineate wetlands so there were a few times we'd be wearing rubber calf boots and still manage to get muddy water inside of them which made for a VERY PLEASANT subsequent hour or two outside.

Currently doing a bunch of material science/engineering for oil and gas and transitioning more towards Quality Engineer (lmao). Having a STEM degree was absolutely what got my foot in the door.
