57% of congress (which means 7 of his own party members) agree that he incited the attack. You'd have a case of partisan politics if the vote was strictly 50-50, but in both impeachments, even the Republicans couldn't unanimously say Trump was innocent.

None of this actually said that the election was invalid. Russia did interfere in our politics. But the votes cast were never at issue.

Also I want to point out that the 2000 election essentially was stolen. If votes were counted consistently across Florida(Either all hanging chads/etc counted or all thrown out), Gore would have won.

There was still a peaceful transfer of power(One that would ultimately fuck the country and the world, of course).

The election in 2020 was not even a little bit under dispute. The lie was still peddled for months. Looking at the evidence, you'd have to be a complete moron to think the election was "stolen", but because the President said so we failed to have a peaceful transfer of power.

Also, I'd like to point out that, despite 2016 being a shitshow and the Dems losing the presidency while winning the popular vote by 3 million votes...the only protest was completely peaceful, and no Democrats incited a riot against the government to overthrow the newly-elected Trump administration. For some reason, that only happened with Trump lost. Both the election AND the popular vote.

Now, this implies one of two things (or possibly both, but at least one.) Either: Trump's constant refrain of the election being rigged and his supporters needed to fight to defend our democracy was incitement of violence against the government. Or: Trump supporters are naturally morons compared to Hillary supporters in a similar, post-election situation, and are easily susceptible to totally unintended suggestions that they incite a riot.

The left doesn't hang on a single news organization like people do on the right. I watched CNN on election night because I wanted to see when the major networks would call various races, but outside of that I can't remember when I tuned in to the network.

rush is a pretty special kind of political pundit, there's very few with that infamy. i can think of some who comedic value is a valid defense or others who are just trying to reason out their thoughts, but rush? the dude explicitly was offensive just to offend and put people down. and he should totally be able to do that, fully support and defend that, it's just that he should also be ready to have people throw a party when he's dead too. that's the grave he dug, now he can have people shit in it.

Even when Trump would make a big announcement about reducing troops, which is all he ever did, didn't end a single conflict we are involved in, it was usually just because those troops were getting replaced by private military groups like blackwater. Which is far, far worse than even just having the US soldiers there tbh.

Last I checked (mid/late 2020 IIRC) troop levels were basically the same as they were at the start of Trump's term. All his "we're removing troops from X!" announcements tended to be offset by an increase in a different Middle East theater.

that missile strike was one of the weirdest wastes of money we've had. like he was trying to show strength, by... targeting something that wouldn't damage them all that much considering they did have advance notice. like it didn't run the risk of war but it gave the illusion of one only to those who didn't matter at all.

The 2000 Florida recount is complicated.

There were two limited recounts in play - one requested by Gore and the other by the Florida Supreme Court in four specific counties. Had either of those been conducted and not killed by SCOTUS, a media consortium study found that Bush would have still won (though his margin would have shrunk some.)

But the consortium also found that had the recount been statewide instead (which Gore had asked Bush to join him in supporting, but was rejected and not the subject of Gore's eventual court challenge) the result was likely to flip to Gore. That's what red is talking about.
