So hey, another Vanguard question. So by now I've done the thing where they've sent two deposits into my account, and now the bank is authorized. I think now I'm waiting for further access, which will happen in some business days. Now right now I have some money in "credits and debits". That should be going into the money market fund, but it seems like I have no way to move it around. Is that normal? Do I just have to wait until I have more access and/or once I have more access I'll be able to move the money around myself?

I've seen this happen with biotechs before FDA approval a few times. Market makers are trying to shake the money away which means they're expecting the price to go up.

If you have enough in this that you're afraid of it dropping a buck you may need to reduce your stake a little. I'm at peace knowing even if the value of my shares go to 0 I'm still over double my money.

It will go up to be sure, but it could go down more from here.

(Though I'm a little skeptical it can actually go down that much more. Wait till you go green again before selling some of it off.)

It had great earnings
It went down too much because the market went down as well
It was limited on Robinhood for god know what reason

The +2.36% today was nice but I expected a little more!

there seems to be enough variance and oscillation on some cryptos that I should be able to reliably get a small 2 or 3% gain as long as I'm not moving a chunk to them just as it hits an all time high.

So i'll try putting $7.20 into 5 different cryptos and waiting for them to hit $7.42 before moving them into a different crytpo that is at a lower end of an oscillation. Repeat ad naseum, so it will keep moving unless I end up in 5 different cryptos that all continue to lose value or never strike a 3% increase.

i recommend Algorand. Consistent gains, easy to anticipate, 7% APY, and a legitimately good project

Sometimes you just to go with the market.

I went to a Tesla dealership on Saturday and it was jam-packed. This was in the northeast, during Covid, on a Saturday afternoon. I also think many people who own Tesla stock wont ever sell it because they love Tesla so much lol.

Count me as another person who has never invested in Tesla and probably won't. I'm open to admitting I was wrong about it being a bubble but the price is so high now that I'm not going to buy.

I bought it about two weeks before its split (august 31 2020) believing that the price would go down once it did. In the week and a half I had it, it went up 10%. Then I sold it, the stock went down for about a week or two, and its gone up another 150% since.

For anyone who's driven (or actually owns) a Tesla... is it as quiet to drive as people say? I'd love to be in the market for one, but they're just too expensive at the moment, even for the Model 3.

So when is AMC supposed to go to the moon?

There were a lot of end of week shorts that would in theory need to be covered or double downed on this week at some point. If they double down then you'd need to hold longer-- it's not as heavily shorted as Gamestop and it's not super far above the pressure line yet (it needs to hold above $9 for shorts to actually feel pain from this last set) so it could take a while. You'll probably know within the next week or two based on what the buzz is and the price motion is whether the short squeeze is going to work.

I called Tesla a bubble ever since it was 400 pre-split. Analysts which are smarter and more experienced than me called it a bubble when it was 200 pre-split. Someone even gave it a price target of $0.
But look where it is now.

Gamestop too. Company is not worth more than $10. Digital or otherwise. as I mentioned, I followed WSB for months. I followed $GME for months. I never believed in it and look what happened.

The company also decided it's a great opportunity to make discounted IPOs AND THE MARKET KEEPS GETTING THE STOCK PRICE HIGHER while totally ignoring the IPOs.
I have never seen anything like this

So in other news.
My main play today was selling 30 AMC Puts with a strike of 4 expiring on 3/5 for .67 a share.

Best case it expires worthless and I made 2k for holding up 10k for a month.
Worst case I own 3000 AMC shares at a cost basis of 3.33

Another example of the market not making sense
Foresight Autonomous Holdings (FRSX) a company that developed a system to be used by Autonomous cars (a camera on top the car or some shit) went up 1000% ever since December 21th
What was on December 21th? Apple announcement that they are going for autonomous cars

Was it ever stated that they are going to cooperate with Foresight? no. This is just a pure speculation.

Also as far as I know Apple it won't surprise me if they are going to develop everything by themselves....

I completely agree with Lopen about CTRM, even if the price doesn't fall back down because this is just a normal pump and dump, the company itself will do an offering and destroy your value anyways.

FRSX is interesting. If they are partnered with Apple somehow then they can maybe go up (if they aren't already over valued even if this deal did happen), but if they aren't then this'll crash.

Because space is the next frontier! Even my grandmother is excited about the upcoming space race.

Specifically, today, SPCE announced the window for their next test flight in a couple weeks. I do plan to sell a fair portion of my shares before then because this position has gotten up to close to 40% of my portfolio and the test flight will probably either send it plunging or soaring. I need to get it down to a level before the test flight where it doesn't give me a heart attack lol.

Cathie Wood is also starting a space-themed ETF (ARKX) and SPCE has long been a holding in ARKK.

Finally, I've been reading/watching Chamath stuff a lot recently, and I find myself agreeing with him an awful lot. I think he's got my vote for governor of California as it stands.

Combined with a financial transactions tax to make HFT unprofitable? Sure. We would also need to change the tax code to get rid of the devices for converting income into capital gains. For example:

Trump buys a building in New York. He pays $X for it (mostly borrowed, naturally). Now he collects rent. But he doesn't pay taxes on the rent because he offsets it with depreciation charges, which are higher than the rent. In fact, he declares a "loss." And the cost basis is adjusted based on the depreciation. Meanwhile, he can use the loss to avoid paying taxes on other income, and if there is leftover loss, he rolls it over, accumulating year by year an ever bigger hoard of tax losses. Meanwhile, the cost basis keeps getting adjusted.

So where did all the money go? Into the value of the property. So now, if he sells, there would be a large capital gain. Which he would pay a lower rate on. But in fact, even if he sells, under current law, as long as he uses the money to buy another piece of real estate, he can avoid the tax and carry over the cost basis to the new property. And you see how as long as he stays invested in real estate he is NEVER going to pay a dime of tax. And if he finally does cash out, it would be at the long term capital gains tax rate.

So if we go to a long-term capital gains tax of zero, we can't allow this kind of strategy to work.

This is an article from Nasdaq saying short interest in GME as of Friday was 121%. Much higher than the numbers from S3 Partners. This is really weird how these short interest numbers are wildly different from different sources.

For people who can afford to stare at the stock market all day, like to day trade, and also dont mind taking risks... I recommend YGYI. It is a shitty stock that once went up like 300% during Covid because of their hand soap or something and has since retreated to delisting levels.

Anyway, it might be the worlds most volatile stock. It ebbs and flows at least 5% everyday, multiple times per day. The trick is to buy it when its under .300 and sell when its over .310. The pattern is almost clockwork. You could make anywhere from 5% to 50% gains in any given day doing this.
