I love this recovery. The fun part is while I lost a lot of my potential profits on the 2000 shares I sold I liberated my 500 shares from the tyranny of the sold $9 calls and am emboldened to hold those and my $5 calls much longer than I would be normally. I may end up making more than I would have. AMC is going to $100. I believe it in my bones

It's so fitting that GameFAQs is mostly rallying behind AMC instead of GME by the way. Like we have some GME buyers but more in AMC to be sure

I mean the obvious irony is that it's we aren't as heavy into the one related to video games but I just think it's funny that the way this site is we're sorta more on the indie cred version of GME.

@Lopen , personally I think ETrade sucks, unless youre able to figure out how to do after hours and pre market trades. The charts were always behind and I could never make moves after 4pm. I stopped using it last year.

I hear good things about TD Ameritrade, never used.

TD Ameritrade is fine. I've been using it for a couple years (though very sparingly since I've never flipped and seem to always hodl for years) and don't have any major complaints.

Tbh from the way my housemate described his experience with Robinhood, my immediate thought was "Oh, they are absolutely doing something super shady or illegal." Like, the only point of contact with them is by email. And they they communicate by email only or some foreign dude will call you, but only on HIS terms. No phone numbers listed. No nothing. He was completely at their mercy until I said "Say you're involving your lawyer already dude."

They are abso-fucking-lutely doing some shady bullshit behind the scenes there. Like no doubt in my mind.

Robinhood also sells all your data to these very hedge funds, its why they were the first player to do the commission free trading. Data is more valuable than the 5 to 10 dollar commission trades that brokers were charging before a few years ago

Forgive me for possibly speaking nonsense, but I wouldn't be surprised if Robinhood's actions seem like more of a betrayal because since their inception, they've modeled themselves as a grassroots "for the people" investment platform.

Apparently that branding was successful, and undoubtedly, they've pissed away that goodwill in three hours.

I mean I don't think I made enough to be on their radar and won't feel truly at ease until the transfer is complete but yeah.

I don't care about after hours/pre-market very much. Today is one of the only times I actually used it.

I just want OTC/options support and a decent app. Whichever that happens to be.

And yeah as Nanis said Ameritrade froze the stocks for a while yesterday

Well, I signed up for a Robinhood account the other day to see if I could join in the action, but it's still waiting to be verified. Then this shit happens. Now I need to find something new.

I really want to jump in since I feel once the dust settles the white hot rage from people who wanted to buy these stocks will cause them to skyrocket, but I'm also kind of feeling like I shouldn't sign up for another brokerage until I see which one is trustworthy after this.

2020 was historical for many reasons. The stock market broke records, and it's doing it again in 2021. What an age we live in. I feel empowered that so many people out there are doing what they can to fight corruption, and the attention on Wall Street and how they bully the masses is through the roof right now. I want to be optimistic that reform will take place because this shit is illegal in other countries, but I'm not holding out hope for it.
