Im pretty sure Ive brought this up before, about how double-posting is stupid. As a matter of fact, it was when there was a thread closing at 500 and someone triple-posted to close it.

But nobody ever wants to listen.

Which is a poster whos posts, even solo topics, disturb the board. The moderations on this board are very strange. I got modded for telling someone they should try getting pegged, as a joke after they themselves mentioned pegging first without realising the other meaning. I got modded for being "abusive" when it was only a casual passing comment with no malice intended. I could still see how it could be interpreted as offensive, but I wasn't modded for an offensive statement (which has happened before). Their reasoning was that I was being an abusive poster which had me scratching my head. I wasn't attacking anybody wtf

How it works it that people who virtue-signal in the right areas are protected from all of their bad behavior in other areas. Then anybody who doesn't tow the mods' (and the site's ownership's) beliefs and opinions get hammered over things so silly that other people -- some of whom are those protected users -- don't believe they got modded for it.

This. Mass bumping also falls under disruptive, and talking to yourself is effectively just that. If nobody's interested in the topic, let it die. Otherwise you're taking up front page space with a topic you know nobody cares about.

It's a pretty clear line. It's not a matter of saying "not enough people are interested in this topic," it's a matter of saying "literally nobody is interested in this except the TC." Forums exist to communicate with other people. Threads in which people are communicating therefore belong. Threads in which people are not communicating do not, so unless they're useful for informative purposes (in which case a sticky request is in order and multiple different people are likely posting in it anyway), they should be removed for cluttering up the front page for no reason.

This basically. Its still a dumb rule, though. On slower boards, no one should really care. On faster boards, it can help your topic being seen...
