The most embarrassing part of the last couple Tennessee Vols coaching searches is seeing fans begging for Lane Kiffin to come back. I know we suck but have some dignity.

The second most embarrassing part is how no coach is ever good enough. It sounds like the Vols are going to hire Josh Heupel, and now they're mad the UCF AD wanted the UCF coach.

UCF fans seem to be celebrating, which is probably not a good sign. Heupel is also the guy we fired to get Lincoln Riley, so maybe this is a Buck Showalter scenario (apologies for different sport reference) and youre one guy away!

Yeah, maybe he's not the right guy. His offensive numbers have been good at OU and UCF, and our offense was often abhorrent under Pruitt, so if he can improve us in that regard, I'll be happy. If we're still gonna lose to Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, I'd rather lose 45-35 than 45-10, if nothing else...!

I'm just afraid we're just going to be right back here in 3 years and we're creating our own Sonic Cycle.

Stafford to 9ers has made sense for so long. They only need a good qb, not even great, and they can win 10 games

My biggest fear for Stafford is that he just ends up on Washington and nothing really changes for him.

washington looks a hell of a lot better than detroit right now, aside from snyder being there

also an easier division than the North or West. but the 9ers would probably be the better choice still

Snyder is an awful human but that has nothing to do with talent, theres quite a bit of it there (plus the fords are pretty bad owners too)

But its probably gonna be Indy getting him, the signs just match tbh

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's a lateral move in terms of organizational instability. Stafford had a few talented teams in Detroit and never won a playoff game there.

Yeah my first thought was if that's what Stafford is worth, where do you even start the market for Watson

I thought it was a stretch when people said Stafford for a 1st and boy was I wrong

It sounds like a lot of people are saying goff was basically considered a liability instead of an asset because of his contract combined with his play, so that's probably where the extra 1st came in

Which ironically works out for the Lions because they need a filler QB for a couple of years. Goff just has to warm the seat for a year or two.

I've already said a long time ago the only people that go to NE are people looking to win a SB and then getting paid somewhere else and the people that stick around are ones that can't get paid anywhere else. Nobody goes to NE to play for Bill, they go there to play with TB12.

Bill's team building philosophy is that he's going to spend the entire cap (you can't call him cheap he spends to the max! - Reddit) on 2nd and 3rd stringers so "next man up" is possible. The downside to this is there really isn't any playmakers, that's why every team plays us tough and close.

I assume it's because we have the worst receivers in the league and play in bad weather with a team that's in a long rebuild with a GM that would probably have been fired a long time ago if he wasn't a 6x SB winner as a coach

I think Patricia's involvement with the team is overblown at this point, but yeah sure he doesn't want to be near Patricia and probably thinks Bill is just Patricia x100

Fair to say it's not a good look for the team, and I'm willing to bet most free agents will avoid us.
