My dude specializes in magic rings and lockpicking. Haven't left port yet, but I'm LV3 and have to find a way to sneak through these Naut-owned warehouses.

I had a good time with it. It continued the trend of Spiders getting better with every game that they make. This time they got some better voice actors, a few of whom you might recognize from The Witcher 3, and I think it made a big difference.

Yeah, my dude tried INTIMIDATING a rip-off merchant guy by throwing that title in his face and the charisma check failed, haha. I don't think the title's that bad, though -- too often you're the Chosen One that's more special than everyone ever, but this seems like a good balance between well-to-do + good upbringing + potential without diving into trope-ier waters. We'll see, I guess.

By the 10th time it gets old. I think my file save is somewhere around the 22 hour mark and I've never gone back. Its such a boring story and the side quests are so dull too.

I want to play a mage, though, since I finished Ghost of Tsushima and Arcania lately and don't want any melee action. Well, I guess my mage swings a hammer for some reason. I'd prefer mage ring + shield or something, though. Should see if that's even possible. (There are equip restrictions on everything, so I'll have to double-check if shields are even in the game.)

Lol I was literally looking at both ps plus choices and going... ugh not sure if I'll like either. I googled greedfall to know more about it and realized why the graphics looked so familiar:

These developers did this really generic rpg on ps3 called fairy legend of aevoln or something and I remember trying that demo a decade ago and going... holy crap this is generic, you couldn't pay me to play this.

I would recommend taking a level of Vigor in the early game, especially if you are a mage. It gives out of battle health regen and increased out of battle magic regen.

You'll still need potions when you are in combat, but you'll save a bunch since you'll heal outside of that.

Minor spoilers:
You don't need to drug anyone. Put on a Sailor vest which you should be able to get in a chest near the Naut areas. Then just tell the guards to leave.

Also for crafting check to see if you have found some Blacksmith gloves. They give 1 point of crafting. Once you have those you can make an attachment for your clothing that gives 1 point of lockpick.

You're right, those Blacksmith Gloves do give crafting. I passed that part with a disguise, though, so now I'm onto the boss fight. (I suspect that's what the spoiler above is.) I didn't even check that part of the harbor earlier, but if I had, it would've been an obvious "boss fight here" spot. It's the barest spot in the whole damn city!

Beat the monster, journeyed across the sea, arrived in town. Vasco and a tribal girl are on my team now and Constantin presumably won't be coming back, now that he's the town guvnor. I finished that stupid crate mission (smuggled weapons! how surprising!) and dealt with some racketeer guardsmen. The quest to save some tribal guy's cousin from the arena's way too hard to do right now. They threw him into a 3-on-1 fight against a boss human and two armored beasts...yeah, that's fair.

Helped Vasco find his birthname by sneaking into the port -- an easy task now that I know about disguises and sneaking. The building even has the same damn layout as the one in Selene! Currently doing Kurt's quest to find out what happened to a recruit he...uh, recruited. Seems he died after running afoul of a ghost company.

Explored outside of town and found some place in the mountains that required Vigor 2 to reach. I wonder if that's where the follow-up mission is.

Why was I born with intelligence, wisdom, magical ability, good looks, charisma, prestige, upbringing, and a sharp tongue...but no Strength 2!? This world can be so cruel.

I like how this dude was nervous at the start and I had to add in the "don't accidentally be murdered by your own friends" quip. It's no wonder the newbs around this port are turning into drunkards.

FINALLY beat this rigged arena match after several attempts. These stupid-ass bulls are really annoying to face, even with armor-ignoring magic. It's good that your magical shield ability can block oncoming attacks from two, 'cause one often attacks a little later than the first. In other games, that'd be some tough breaks.

I found some skill totems out in the hinterlands, so I taught myself the mage ring teleport dodge for survivability. Only tried it a few times, but it's pretty good at evasion -- it's a keeper.

I was hoping that equipping two rings at once might do something useful, but it doesn't seem like it does.

Well, this didn't go as planned.

Hmmmm, I don't think I'm supposed to fight this ambulatory aspen yet. With my teleport dodge, I can avoid his jumping AoE attack and get in a few attacks with a poison melee, before having to retreat-dodge and start the cycle over again. Could probably beat this solo if I wanted to spend a half hour doing it with my baby weapons...which I don't.

How long does it take for you to do the imaged for these topics? I was watching a review for this game and looked a bit meh. How you finding it? I heard the combat is a bit patchy and if you back away from enemies too much they just stop following you and return to their starting location sounds like it would make the game really easy to cheese.

I'm taking screenshots on PS4 and moving 'em to the computer via USB. It's pretty easy.

As for how I'm finding the game, I'm enjoying it. Some of the quests are a little boring, and there's no sprint button (I think...), so it ain't perfect. Combat's been pretty enjoyable, though, now that I can do some long-range magic sniping and move in to do poison melee attacks. As for the "enemies back up" stuff, it's true in some cases, but if you exit their attack range, they immediately heal, so you can't cheese it. (It's useful for high-powered enemies, but the range is fixed, not based around each enemy, so you could accidentally leave midway through battle, wasting your time.)

There are definitely some scenic shots to take, like this one of the mountaintop ruins:

Here's what happens when Ganesha gives birth to Cthulhu's kid:

Turns out the Congregation made the ruins and now my party members, at least for a brief moment, expressed their displeasure with accompanying me. It's not my fault! (On a side note, look at that pimp hat.)

Here's another guardian I killed today, this time by giving it 50+ seconds of poison. I can't go back to normal melee weapons after finding that kickass club! Regrettably, I don't have any craftsman abilities, so all those ingredients are going to waste in a shared chest.

Most of these natives take notice of my dude's dark skin, which I thought was a cool thing.

Whew, made some good progress today. Finished Vasco's personal quest to find his name and locate his brother; didn't expect I'd have to go all the way to Hikmet to do it. He wound up in my party for quite awhile while I neglected Kurt. (As it turned out, Kurt didn't have another quest waiting yet, so oh well.) Also finished Siora's quest to locate her dead mother and take her remains back to the village. That moronic quartermaster dude sicced some thugs on me and I just let him walk away afterward...that didn't feel right.

Oh yeah, finished a quest where some Selene guy bought a mine, enslaved natives to work it, and didn't have any authority to do so in the first place. He even tried to bribe me! Later, he ended up dying with his mercs, so...oh well!

I forget what this is called in the game, but c'mon...it's a landshark.

Hikmet ho! Honestly, it wasn't as big on the inside.

And to the guy who didn't like how De Sardet introduces himself constantly...

Okay, so what's happened since yesterday...

Well, completed Vasco's second quest, a loyalty mission for the admiral. Guess she found out about him locating his birth family or something. Anyway, the shipwreck I found had a puncture hole from another primeval baddie (which I slaughtered), securing his reputation, etc.

Looks like a future battlesite or something...

This tribal leader guy I found, Ullan, came to a peace agreement with armed dudes and I had to slaughter them to help a rival tribal guy, who doesn't like me. Ullan tried to blow it off later, saying we're friends now. Would a friend besmirch the noble name of De Sardet!?

Bought a purple ring for my mage and it's tearing through these heavily armored dog/lizard monsters. Even better, I ditched my HP-regenerating amulet for a better MP-regen one and maxed out my Healing/Armor of Regeneration (?) skills, letting my allies benefit somewhat, too.
