Checking the results periodically for the Georgia run-offs. One Senate seat is almost certainly going blue. The other remains stupid close at 97% counted. Mind you, this was after so many names disappeared from the registration, or after some mail-in ballots vanished so numerous people (including Tyler Perry) had to vote in person after learning what had happened to their ballots they had cast.

Hopefully Ossoff closes that 1300 gap in the last 3%, if not beats it entirely, just to stick it to whomever lost those names and ballots. We can guess who it was, or why.

The batch of 6k votes that just came out put Ossoff on top. While still possible, it is unlikely for Perdue to come back.

Warnock has been predicted as the winner by most places at this point, he just got 91% of the vote in the last turn out from DeKab (spelling?) county

Seeing as how some of the police are taking selfies with the protestors, seeing as how people would have been stopped and beaten (or worse) had this been Antifa or BLM, I feel like it's disingenuous at best for him to say people should "Stay peaceful!"

I wanna know why the impeachment articles aren't ready yet.

What I want is for Trump's chosen few to remove him and assume what remaining duties there are, ones for restoring law and order, until Biden can take over on the 20th. Then I want Trump and his family to see their assets frozen, due process done without obstacle for every withstanding charge for any and all of them, and for all of it to be done with minimal noise before letting the whole family fade into obscurity, unwelcome by the rich elite and unwanted by most who aren't of the 45 Cult. Keep the records for posterity, but give the man no more attention, no more value. That will hurt him most of all, to be alone or in prison without a single person to say yes to him or give him the attention he craves. Let him partake in the rest of his days as a pile of nothing, and in time his followers will choose someone else, by which time I hope we've got better systems and institutions in place to prevent this madness or worse from repeating itself.

That is what I want. Gods help me, I know it to be unlikely, but I want it all the same.

Impeachment is stupid.
It's only 14 days, Dems should instead be focused on getting a slew of bills ready for President Biden to sign.
Also, Pence should never be president, even for 2 weeks.
Dems don't even have their 50+1 majority in the Senate yet, let alone 2/3, so no way it'd even happen.

On that note, what happens if Pence does become president (more likely via 25th amendment hostile takeover)? Senate is currently 50-50 split. Would we not have a VP to break ties for these last 2 weeks? I don't see Dems approving a new VP selection from Pence just so he can have a tie-breaker in his favor.

Pence cannot become President through the 25th Amendment, he can only become Acting President. Trump could then immediately request reinstatement, and if Pence continued to object, Congress would have to vote on it, with a 2/3rds majority of both houses required to maintain Pence as Acting President.

The sole saving grace here is that Pence has 4 days to respond to Trump's request for reinstatement and then Congress has 21 days to vote, and Trump is out in less than 2 weeks. If either house could avoid calling a vote, Trump could not resume his duties as President before his term ended.

The only way to permanently remove a sitting President is through impeachment.

Pretty much. As far as getting him out of office goes, it's largely a formality. The actual value lies in finding him guilty of his crimes and summarily preventing him from having political power ever again.

mhm. He also took legal action to sate his ego, not for integrity as this video claims. On the other hand, this video feels spliced together, like they had to do multiple takes and just edited together the best parts, after handing him a script that Pence's speechwriter may or may not have had a hand in. This is speculation, but I am guessing Pence told Trump in no uncertain terms he had the means to end Trump's presidency in his hands, ready to go to Congress, unless Trump shut up and gave this damned speech conceding the election and telling Trump's own supporters their actions are no good.

So I accept that this has been said, but not that there is a lot of truth or energy to it. Trump, in this video, sounds drained or beaten.

We shall see how the next two weeks go.
