Emperor Constantine deciding to convert to Christianity is probably one of if not the most influential moment in western history that still rings across the ages to today. if he hadn't done that, so much of history would be so very different

We could go back to Caesar leveraging his populist movement to become king. Or really, Gaius Marius' reform of the Roman military to concentrate all real power in the hands of a few generals.
