The Manhattan DA and NYPD are investigating a shocking incident in which a Karen, now identified by Dailymail as Cassandra Medina, who DENIES IT, accuses a black teen of stealing her IPHONE and demands employees search his bag and the phone to prove it's his!!

Hotel guests Keyon Harrold and his 14 y/o son were approached at the lobby at the boutique Arlo Hotel in SoHo neighborhood when the grammy award winning trumpet palyer filmed the incident and showed them being accused of robbery by a white woman

Attorney Ben Crump is also calling for her to be CRIMINALLY CHARGED and said "The parents @KeyonHarrold Jr and I are calling on the ManhattanDA to bring charges of assault and battery against the woman who attacked Keyon and falsely accused him of stealing her phone @ArloHotels. Join us in sending a clear message that hateful, racially motivated behaviour is unacceptable. Email Manhattan DA Cy Vance Jr and urge him to charge the woman who attacked Keyon Harrold Jr"

The video shows one of the managers asking Harrold's son to see his phone which angered the father who accused the father of taking her side. When he refused the demand, she LUNGED toward him prompting them to defend themselves.

In the 1 minute video it shows the teen saying "it's my phone" as his dad said he doesnt have to explain anything t her and then she points to the phone telling the manager that the case was the same as hers and demands he get it back.

The father said "are you kidding me? You feel like there's only one iPhone made in the world. No get a life"

The manager DEMANDED he see the phone stating he is the manager as the family refuses to show him but Cassandra encourages him to retrieve it.

The woman's phone was then later returned to her by an UBER DRIVER of which she left in his car proving the claims were false

Kat, the boy's mother told TMZ "He asked me why she thought she could accus me? And when you have to sit down with your son and say, well son, it might be because you are black and she felt threatened and you didn't fit into this nice hotel"

Harrold told the NYT that she tackled her son and tried to look into his pockets before being physically separated as he made the furious post on his instagram

He believes the manager EMPOWERED her and didn't even consider they were guests at the hotel as they took her side and said there was no apology from the establishment

Cassandra is a registered NURSE in Staten Island and posted on her instagram stating "I've been tagged all morning in this video and this is not me. It's not ok to be falsely accused on social media and iw ouldn't want that happening to anyone. I hope you find truely who this person is because what she did is disgusting and this hotel should be held accountable"

Her pictures show her at the Arlo in SoHo hotels as well

Arlo Hotels released a statement that they are deeply saddened by the incident on the baseless accusation, prejudice and assault against guests as they investigate as well.

The accusations of white woman falsely accusing black men of threatening violence or theft has been an ongoing problem in the united states that has lead to false arrests and even deaths since the death of George Floyd

There is now a growing BOYCOTT to protest the manager's behaviour

they definitely assaulted her, knocking her down

they couldve easily solved this situation by showing pictures or background but wanted to have a power fit and not just show her that it wasnt her phone, especially since the cases were the same

like the people with the phone eggd it in and escalated when the womans reaction wasnt totally off, especially because they didnt back down with their bs when the manager was there

How is this racially motivated? Is it just because the woman was not-black and the guy was black? There's a lot of criticisms you can level at her behavior, but that's kinda stupid.

At the same time, it takes what, two seconds to demonstrate whose phone it is? I get that there's a matter of principle because nobody likes being accused of shit, but this seems like a lot of aggravation for fucking nothing.

Jesus guys, it's racist because she lost her phone, saw a black teenager and assumed he must have stolen her phone. She didn't believe either the kid or the parent when she asked and she lost it asking for proof. Why should they have to prove anything in this instance?

Especially when it turns out the woman left her damn phone in the Uber she had taken there.

If a woman suddenly accuses me of stealing her phone, I 100% guarantee you I would go out of my way to not show her mine. Out of spite.

Considering she picked this kid out for having a phone and her first instinct is that "he stole it, he can't have a phone that looks identical to mine" a safe assumption can be made that she did it because he was black.

A manager is not a fucking police officer. He had no right to intervene and enable this crazy womans behavior. He should have just called the police or security once it escalated to a conflict.

Also, if someone stops you in the middle of the street and says you are wearing their underwear, would you strip right there to prove your innocence? Why should this person have to prove to a fucking hotel manager that he didn't steal a phone?

1. I'm 100% positive that he wasn't the only person with a iPhone in that lobby. Why was she do laser focused on him?

2. Asian people don't have the same stigma attached to them as black people. Blacks are widely regarded as criminals, gang members, thieves, Thugs, etc. (So, your example is moot)

3. Randomly seeing a black person and thinking they stole from you as your first instinct, with no proof, is racist.

4. In this instance; People jumping in with no bearing on the situation and automatically assuming that you need to prove your innocence is racist.

Goddam if some lunatic started wailing at me that I had her phone after I got off an elevator and have never even seen her I'd straight up ignore her or at least tell her she's got the wrong dude and go on about my day. The fact that she got a manager involves and that the manager started trying to intervene was even more bullshit.

There's no good evidence to say this was racially motivated but fuck this lady and that manager.

I also like how she felt entitled to try and hold that guy there to check if he stole her phone, but apparently was able to get out of there before the hotel or anyone else could get her to show some ID so they'd know who did this.

Not really. If someone came up to a manager with a problem or a mangers aw a issue in their place of work they normally try and resolve the issue before taking further action if needed. They won't just ignore the situation or customers issues.
