Changing movies to fit in with current values and perspectives is a futile and neverending undertaking. It's much simpler to be smart enough to recognize flaws and discrepancies. Pretending such discrepancies don't exist is a pitiful and insulting disservice.

Taking all such movies off the air is futile. It's much better to be smart enough to recognize senses of humor change, tolerance for racism changes, political viewpoints change, views on gender equality change, etc. Believing a movie should be allowed on TV in no way means agreeing with any, or all of the ideas the movie reflects. If you can't understand that, then you're the one with the problem.

It matters because that group is the one that decides what is or isn't offensive to that group. You don't get to tell Asians what they do or do not find offensive.
