Just getting caught up here:

• They won't be hiring anybody else I suspect. Imagine you're the company that acquired GB, you're already looking to cut costs and streamline revenue (ads and subs). If Abby/Ben didn't quit, they were probably on the chopping block anyway (and may have been given the out and a severance package). This is extremely common with acquisitions
• That being said, I don't think they need to hire anybody. They probably won't have a studio in NY so GBEast content will be more like what it was when Alex and Patrick were making content remotely
• FF7R has been getting consistantly robbed in these deliberations, particularly music, although Best Music is always the worst category because it's so subjective and everyone has a different idea of what is good
• God DAMN are this year's deliberations a million times better without Abby. I could just imagine her trying to shoehorn in The Sims/Fortnite into every category because "they have cohesion". You can't have someone editorializing on a video game website that literally never plays anything besides the most casual and well played games out there.

Putting this as politely as possible, audience members being rude about GOTY is the main thing that spoils the fun. For them as well. Dont do it. Its been a very positive experience so far, lets work to maintain that.

To be less polite, Abby played perhaps the most games of all of them! She consistently hit all the big releases and niche stuff other people didnt touch. Only Ben was comparable in how broad they were, maybe Dan. And shes literally streaming Demons Souls right now. You are showing your true colours by targeting her. And you know this was a point she was harassed about. Either drop your stupid grudge or dont post in these topics. The absolute worst thing about bring a Giant Bomb fan.

Also, Ben was extremely clear that him leaving had nothing to do with the purchase and this makes sense as otherwise he would have left with Abby and a bunch of other CBSi employees who left (or were laid off) rather than go to Red Ventures. Theres a huge amount of transparency from both of them on why they decided to leave, yet you have trolls making up their own reasons because theyre not satisfied with the truth! Also it has been said that they are getting a studio in NY Im fairly sure.

Id say Id like to see the version of GB that exists in BTs head since hes clearly out of touch with the real one, but that would probably be depressing.
