Yeah I'm half listening (hence behind by a bit because I will go back a few minutes when something catches my attention and I really want to listen) and as someone who knows nothing about the game the actual emotion that came from Alex and Vinny would make me fully support it winning

edit - granted they haven't discussed the Moki part of Ori and that almost brought me to tears because it was such a sudden gut punch

Discussions have convinced me I need to play Spiritfarer, Ori, and Yakuza

I already wanted to play Yakuza very much anyway, but it bumped it up even more for me now

Ori is great, but Yakuza really surprised me with how great it was. My personal goty is Hades but Yakuza is a strong 2nd, which is something I never expected to say given that I dont play jRPGs, and I had almost no experience with Yakuza other than seeing some gameplay footage of old ones.

Really enjoying this week's Beastcast which is essentially the first half of the best game discussion. It's cool to have the different dynamic of knowing where every game ranks on everyone's list before the discussion even starts.

after seeing their lists but not yet listening to the part afterward, my feeling was Hades isnt a lock for #1 anymore, it could be Yakuza... and Spiritfarer is top 4 over THPS. Miles Morales maybe #5. Then some order THPS, Ori, Tsushima, Fuser, and finally 13 Sentinels for the tenth spot

Spelunky 2 just kind of disappearing is such a surprise this year

it happened for me too. I played it pretty hard for a couple days, then Hades released properly and I spent a hundred hours on that instead

Theyre all right. The game has significant flaws, but even this significantly flawed Animal Crossing is a top game of the year.

PUBG one in an all-timer of a year, and that is a significantly more flawed game than New Horizons, so it can make the top ten no trouble.
