Honestly worse, there's a lot more politics behind the scenes to remove a major game from PSN versus Steam I imagine.

CDPR telling people to go ask Sony and Microsoft for refunds without talking to either of them first was a VERY bad move. Wonder if MS will follow suit?

I cancelled my pre-order back in like January after they initially delayed it to September and I am very glad I did that.

This situation is a little more complex than lol CDPR... it should be lol CDPR and Sony!

CDPR were right that ultimately Sony decides on refunds.

Sony were right that this version of the game should have never reached sale.

However, Sony let it pass cert.

However however, that was almost certainly down to Sony receiving assurances that the game would be fixed in time.

So CDPR is mostly at fault but Sony gets a bit of the blame here too - this game should never have passed cert.

Sony and MS only let it pass cert because CDPR promised them they'd have a day one patch to fix all the issues, per the CDPR investor's meeting from the other day. They straight up lied to Sony and MS then threw them under the bus with the refund thing.

This is entirely on CDPR.

I should have put a however however however, such exceptions to cert for big releases shouldnt exist. And indeed they shouldnt, as this is what cert is for!

How is this Sony nuking them? They're losing the sales money too. From a PR perspective everyone involved in this still looks like various degrees of clown to me.

I legitimately don't think it's just because it's broken. It is severely busted but other major open world games have been busted at launch, even their own last game. Even if this was the worst of them all, this would be a bit overboard on it's own.

Had they not gone behind Sony's back regarding the refunds, I don't think this would have been delisted. That was the breaking point.

I think in certain other countries there's a chance false advertising lawsuits could come up regarding them having never shown a PS4/Xbone trailer, which could like be a contributing factor as well.

yea CDPR's response may well have been a factor in this, between the conference call convos that have come out and that they really seem to have just botched it. Sony and Microsoft are not entirely without fault for letting those versions through compliance but CDPR had all the goodwill in the world built up through The Witcher games for them to have trust in, but it seems to have failed them.
