if the game had been relatively unknown and not hyped to hell and back you'd be right but this isn't the case. The reality is that expectations were sky high for this so considering how much money has been invested and how much the fan boys have been saying the game is the literal next coming of Jesus then people have a right to find it humorous.

who even cares? How much of the game did they even play. Game reviews are a joke because they usually only play about a portion of the game then try to give a full review so they can be first out with it.

Imagine reading a movie review that they only watch 1/3rd of the movie. I get that games are a lot longer but if they gave actual reviews then they can put pressure on corporations to stop some of these shady practices like putting out buggy games.

Just skimming the PC Gamer review it seems like the guy is getting nitpicky about glitches which I imagine are eventually going to be patched out. I can't imagine getting upset at crosshairs not disappearing when talking to someone :|

It's probably worth 20. It's buggy and repetitive. Story wise It's bland and forgettable. The waves are probably the only interesting aspect of it.

Bought it full price with no regrets so its definitely worth the $20 price point now

One complaint Ill agree with was the glitches, but they listened to gamers complaints and patched it regularly

I wouldnt use SJW alert, but besides the last bullet point, I think theyre all personal preferences.

thats my main dislike of most reviews is they put their personal tastes/preferences as facts.

This seems like a patient gamers moment. Bugs! abound, and knowing CDPR they will probably release a content/update complete version of the game like W3. I've had my suspicions that it would be Cyperpunk 2 that would be the amazing game, with Cyberpunk 2077 as a first try with many missteps.

And bugs seems to have had an impact on the overall score for the GS review. Side quests are noted as excellent (which is what we might expect from CDPR) and the main story was less so. But this reviewer didn't like how the role playing in the side quests was much more free, and the main story rail roads your character into doing things you wouldn't have to do in the side content. This makes sense, since it was much less of an issue in W3 where you have different shades of Geralt, rather than different Geralts altogether. These seem to be the big things that drove the score down.

tl;dr version = gameplay and customization is excellent, open world freedom is vast and fun with lots to do, but the bugs are what brings it all down.

Also sounds like CDPR should've delayed this thing again to next year instead of crunching it to coincide with PS5/XSEX because if these flaws aren't necessarily mechanic-oriented, then they can definitely fix all this crap up with patches. This was inevitable for an ambitious af title like this.
