I've lived near a military base my whole life, never heard anyone do this.

But I have seen tons of military wives who were total bitches and try to get special treatment because "MY HUSBAND IS SERVING THIS COUNTRY"

I've been in for 4 years and never seen this or heard about it happening from anyone I know. I don't doubt it happens, but it's definitely not common by any means. These types are likely overweight dependas who are narcissistic.

This one I dont mind honestly as being a military wife/spouse is hard as your lover goes on tours of duty, and on any one of them they could die or get captured, or worse just like how cops wives have to worry about their lovers not coming home among other things.

Still being called a military wife or spouse is one thing because you are their wife or spouse, but being called General or major, or colonel, or Doctor just because you are married to one is very different imo.

Honestly, the discount is kind of silly if it's the same people in control of how much they're paid. You could just pay them more, but instead you set up a discount bait to make them spend their money on stuff they might not need? well it's illegal, for one. Lying about having a rank you do not, in fact, posses would be considered Stolen Valor, at least if they were trying to get a benefit from it (eg special service or a discount, etc). Nobody ever enforces it against dependas like this, but just because they don't dowsnt mean they couldnt

1. You're wrong. Stolen Valor is wearing military medals or claiming military benefits. Calling yourself Major Bumface instead of Mrs Bumface is not illegal and would be a violation of the 1st amendment to inforce.
2. They're not lying about being a rank they don't posses. TC flat out said "Address me by my husband's rank" not "my Rank"

It's like the butterfly effect. If you make the sandwich for your surgeon husband and that sandwich gives him the energy to complete the surgery, then your contribution was integral to the completion of the surgery, so it stands to reason that you helped save a life and are part of the medical staff.
