Yes, because I was done with the psychological abuse, the corner cutting, and the attempts to blame me from the main owner of that restaurant. I thankfully had had the money to get by for a few years after that, but I wish I'd have gotten some form of work once I recovered from that mess rather than trying to get one years later. Life is better now, with a much better job to boot, but still.

Yup. Wanted some time off and thought it would be easier to study for interviews (software engineer) without a job. It was, but I way over prepared and don't feel that need to do that again lol.

That was 3 months, but 1 month was with interviews and offers.

That said, my significant other and I plan on taking 6 months off in between jobs to go live abroad and just do passion projects once our companies IPO.

I know a lot of software engineers who have taken time off. Not a big deal as long as it's not because you couldn't find a job and do something interesting with it.

Helps being in an in demand field obviously.

Yeah. I left Subway when I was younger. Like a little after high school. Mainly because he took away y hours so I was working only 1 day a week. And it was Saturday. So, one Saturday, he gave me the day off. And that was also the Saturday of the week when I got a new phone number. So he wasn't able to call me and tell me my next work day. So, I effectively quit. I went back months later after some ladies I've never met somehow knew who my grandma and sister were and told them my last check was still there.

And technically, I guess a few year ago, I got out of active without another job. And I got one at a bus station for a little bit. Had I planned a little earlier, I could've had a job at juvenile correctional facility. Which would've been interesting. But the money would have been great... Especially the double-dipping, I believe... But at the same time, I never had it lined up. That being said, I wasn't actually sure what I was going to do. I kind of wanted to move home and see my friends and family. But I also didn't want to leave me roommate alone, nor did I want to leave my boyfriend. So, I stayed...

Yes, a couple of times. It didn't work out very well at all the first time I did it.

The last couple were no big deal, I had another job lined up quickly. Keep in mind, my field is in high demand.

Yes but I was in a position where id be depressed for feelimg like a burden on someone at least id still have a good over my head and food in my belly. I wouldn't quit my job for anything but a better paying job now. I got people who depend on me.

Been there, done that. I've had 14 jobs. My last job was as an Optician/Optometric Assistant. I quit because they cheated me through the Optician program, wrote me up a crap contract tying me to them for two years (there were misspellings and the contract was presented to me two weeks into program), and the management was usually out looking for strawberries at the farmer's market instead of managing.

I quit without another job lined up, and have done similar things in the past. I applied for school, a student loan, and got a cleaning job for a month in the summer to keep a little bit of cash flow in between.

It used to stress me out, but I've learned that a stressful job simply isn't worth it, and the stress of finding another job doesn't equate to shitty job stress.

Yes. And I don't advise it for anybody. Well you shouldn't quit at least resign with 2 weeks notice. I did the latter and even thats bad without anything lined up. Savings run out eventually.
